“Great pool, beautiful peaceful beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

We chose Thong Nai Pan for its seclusivity. It's beautiful, quiet & peaceful. It is a bit of a journey to get there but once you're there it's well worth it if you want some relaxation time. If you're wanting to visit other locations while you're staying here its probably not the location for you as transport to other locations is expensive as its far away. We chose at dreamland resort because we liked the look of the pool and it definitely was the best pool on the beach. We stayed in an superior aircon bungalow. It was the 2nd highest standard of room. We were only 1 bungalow back from the beachfront which was great. The room was pretty basic but it was clean, had aircon, fridge & TV. The bathroom was pretty basic too but it did the job. For only $48AUD a night we didn't expect any more. Besides, when you're staying somewhere like thong nai pan why would you need to spend so much time in your room? We relaxed by the pool and the beach the whole time. We stayed 3 nights which we thought was a good length of time. If you do do stay at dreamland, organise a transfer with the hotel prior to arriving. It's actually cheaper than catching a crowded non-aircon songthaew for the 30 min journey from the pier. We paid 300THB/ person by songthaew on the way over and only 200THB /person on the way back in a nice air-conditioned minibus which also felt much safer. The road over is up and down steep hills and some of it is unpaved so it's a bit of a wild ride in a songthaew! I definitely wouldn't recommend making the journey by motorbike! Saw a few bandaged tourists that obviously tried...

This is the best place to stay. Yes it is a long ways away from the main part of town, but thats why we chose it. We had an air con bungalow, and it was great. Bungalow was a good size with a nice comfortable bed. The pool was amazing, it had a great swim up bar. (we would walk the 400m into the tiny town and get our beers and such at the 7-11) as the bar prices were a bit high. The beach and water was perfect. Beach was low key great for families or couples that don't want the hustle and bustle of Haad Rin. Will definitely be coming back here every time we visit Koh Phangan!!!!

Room Tip: you will find yourself going to the 7-11 a lot, also if you want to rent a scooter, do it from the h...

We paid 2,000 baht for a tiny bungalow with air con, we managed to stay in a much nicer spacious bungalow for 1,100 further down the beach - called nice beach bungalows. My husband lived and worked in Thailand and knows the going rate for accommodation and we defo were overcharged for a basic cell of a room with a view opposite to another bungalow ie no nice gardens to look out on which is not what you expect with the price charged! The toilet was broken which my husband fixed for us (we overheard another couple with kids also had broken toilet in their bungalow as well). The prices for food were overpriced compared with other restaurants along the same beach. We had committed to a prebooked 2 night stay (we were there at the time of full moon party so accommodation as at a premium.
On plus side nice pool and the beach is lush just avoid dreamland in terms of getting value for money as there are much better options further along the beach. Oh and most places have games that you can use in the communal restaurant area, at rip off dream land they do not have this and instead sell games in their shop - a pack of cards costs you 300 baht, at 7-11 they cost 50baht!!

When coming to this hotel, it is a very expensive transfer as its the furthest point and the roads are awful getting there. My girlfriend bust her head open as the tuk tuk taxi drove to fast on this 'off roading experience' and she come out of her seat, actually all of us did. Why risk it? It takes 45mins of this stupidity.
Its too remote and quiet for us personally but truthfully, their really is not much to do around here. Im writing this review whilst at the hotel, surely that says it all that im reviewing on holiday?? Stay down south in koh phangan, more people, cheaper and much more fun. Its costs over 1000baht each way to get haad rin from this prison. I certainly wouldnt return.
Their is one plug socket in the whole bungalow, no fridge, no tv, no air con and the water is yellowish. Why stay here?! We stayed in a standard bungalow. Surely that isnt standard?lol..its more hostel type. The upgrade to superior is double of what we had already paid on top!!
Yes the pool and the beach are nice and the view from the beach is beautiful but to me, its really not worth it. I was going to rate Dreamland Resort (Nightmare Resort) a 2 or 3 until last night, our toilet had a bad leak and the bathroom started to flood at 9.20pm. We informed reception and they got the maintanance guy out and after an hour he arrived. Turned the sink and shower on, flushed the toilet and said everything was fine. I pointed to the leak on the toilet which was clearly dripping rapidly and he started yelling in my face "ITS OKAY, ITS OKAY". We cleared him off and had to inform reception the following morning who got it fixed properly that day. Honestly, this place isnt worth the money, the hassle or the beautiful beach.

Me wife, me and two good friends of us, spent two nights and 3 days in this wonderful Resort. The bungalows are simple, but more than good enough, clean, aircon, hot and cold water and TV. What more do you need ?. The food was excelent, all staff very polite and nice. My be the best of all in Dreamland is the beach, can hardly be better.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, they also have large family bungalows.

Even though it was the more expensive accomodation I was during my budget-ish travel in Thailand, it was really good spent money.
The bungalow was clean and quiet, the staff kind and efficient, I could use both a sun lounge on the wonderful beach as the swimming pool.
Very good food at their restaurant on the beach.

We stayed in a family bungalow with 2 beds because it looked a little bigger than some of the other bungalows and I read where they had been refurbished recently. They actually aren't as big as the pictures appear on their website but they were quite comfortable for just the 2 of us. Another plus is that they have had a makeover and are very clean. The only disappointment was that they aren't as close to the beach as some other bungalows. While we felt a refreshing breeze at the beach when we headed back to the bungalow the breeze was blocked significantly by the trees and other bungalows in front.
Service at the front desk was excellent (they even called a restaurant on Noi beach for us & scored us a free ride from the restaurant). As others have mentioned the service, or lack thereof, at the restaurant was just plain poor. At times we had to get up and ask one of the staff for a menu. They were literally just sitting around and ignoring us. Another time, after waiting for our bill we just gave up & figured out how much we owed and gave the money to the nearest staff person. I suggest you try some of the other restaurants on the beach. They all have comparable menus but the service is much better.
The pool and beach are wonderful as advertised. This is why we travel the extra time on a bad road to get to Yai beach!
