We just got back from a beautiful week-end in Stockholm after spending two nights at the Best Western Time Hotel which we absolutely loved. This Hotel is situated in a really quite street only 2 blocks away from Svea Vagen street where you can find all kind of restaurants and cafes, and if you keep walking, in short distance you will get everywhere you will need to go. The hotel has beautiful rooms with a nice flat screen TV and few English speaking channels. We didn't have the chance to try the sauna on the ground floor but I am sure it is as nice as the rest of the Hotel. The staff was really nice and friendly and give us really good tips.
The breakfast was the best part of the whole experience. The buffet had all kind of cheeses, salami, fruit, bread, yogurt and cereal. they even have lactose intolerance cheese and butter, which we found really nice.

There is a supermarket right next door which you can find everything you need ( we loved the goodies!)

If you are taking the bus to the city make sure to get out at the first bus stop in the city, the hotel is just a couple of blocks away and you will save a good walk ( or the underground trip) from the main train station.

We can't imagine staying in another hotel in Stockholm

“Very nice hotel!”

Best Western Time Hotel

Apr 3, 2008

We stayed four nights at the Time Hotel in double standard room. We got a good deal for €95,-/room and night!
There is a supermarket just next to the hotel. The location is good, you can easily walk down to the old city centre, Gamla Stan, by taking Drottninggata, which is full of shops. It takes around 15-20 minutes. The receptionist told me it would be better to take the Tunnelbanna (subway), which we did not.

The size of the room was ok, the flatscreen TV was big, the bed very comfortable and very clean: a very nice room. The breakfast buffet did not really differ from a typical hotel breakfast, but was very good. One morning we had to wait for a table for a couple of minutes though. The ladies at the reception desk were very nice. I wanted to go to the sauna, but was told that it was fully booked for that night...

Try to get a good deal, especially on weekends or "book 4 and buy 3 nights" (on www.booking.com).

“Loved the free sauna and great comfy bed”

Great new hotel. Nice comfy bed, slept great. We were on the front side of the hotel and we had a great view. The place was very silence as well. Maybe not the best location for "downtown" stockholm. But the neigbourhood itselfs is great. Some nice reastaurants Ciao Ciao Grande, most lovely pizza's since i've been in Italy..

And when you've walked one block (aprox 7 min walk) you've find the metro/ tunnelbana/ subway and the bus, those can bring you anywhere. Personally we think it's a great city just to walk in and we don't used the metro and bus that often.

The staff at the hotel is very nice and helpfull. You can use the relax room (wich contains a nice/ prety big sauna) for free. And it's totally private. You reserve some free sauna time.

The (free) breakfast was very nice as well. All kinds of bread/ yoghurt/fruit/ cheese/ spreads... and of course Knäckebröd!

There's a relaxed astmosphere in the hotel,
actually there is a great/ relaxed astmosphere in whole stockholm....

I felt in love with Stockholm and the swedish people!

“Shiny and new...”

Best Western Time Hotel

Great new hotel within walking distance of the centre/attractions etc.

I was a little concerned at first that this was slightly north of the centre, but a 20minute walk can get you almost anywhere and if that fails, the T-Bana (underground) is only £1.60. Nearest station is OdenPlan (three stops on the green line from Central).

The room was very large and well decorated - modern clean lines, with a great black marble bathroom with power shower. It also had personal heating controls and a large plasma screen TV with around 18 channels, including several English language stations.

As always in Europe it seems, the bed was two twins pushed together, not a double. However, was very comfortable. There are no extra bits in room eg: coffee/tea maker; however, this can be requested free of charge.

There is wi-fi available throughout the hotel free of charge and a couple of computers in the lobby. There was also a free sauna downstairs, but I didn't get around to trying it.

The breakfast was very good. Hot bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and toast, alongside cold meats, cheeses, rolls etc.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. (The only problem with this is that they're so friendly we had to wait at reception for ages, while they nattered to the people in front us.) But they were always willing to help and give advice on restaurants/attractions etc.

There were several nice restaurants within walking 5-10mins walk, including a pizzeria and an excellent European restaurant (steak, risotto etc.) called 'Vimmel' - the chocolate souffle was amazing. (Both located on the road running south from hotel)

The food everywhere was expensive, as expected, with main courses about £14 and a bottle of wine £24+. Also, some restaurants didn't include the 25% tax/service change in the prices. However, the food and service everywhere was excellent.

Entry to all the tourist attractions was cheap though...mostly hovering around the £4 mark. Skansen was particularly good...especially the "ever popular elk".

“excellent service and a lovely room, breakfast wasn't fantastic, but suficient”

Best Western Time Hotel

Dec 10, 2007

The hotel only opened on 1st October 2007, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
The hotel staff are excellent, we arrived late on a Friday evening, and were greeted by a very helpful receptionist, who checked us in straight away, and recommended several nearby restaurants which would still be open for food. The rooms are a good size, with a shower (ours did not have a bath), and wireless internet access at no extra charge.

We were not overly impressed with the breakfasts (no croissants etc) but you can get by with toast/fruit/yoghurt etc as there is quite a big selection.

Overall, excellent service and a lovely room, breakfast wasn't brilliant, but I would recommend any couple/business traveller to stay there.
