I've got more good news than bad news. The hotel has a great location near the bridge to Gamla Stan. We walked everywhere. The slush can slow you down but everything is nearby and we had fun in the snow. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. We stayed in room #420 for three nights and, overall, we thought we got our money's worth. Our room had a really lovely view, and while that's not normally critical to us, we were quick to really appreciate it. The best thing about the room was the bed. I could go on and on about the bed. Great bed. Lots of pillows. Really comfortable. We got in late on Friday night and took advantage of room service. It was the only food we ate in the hotel but it really hit the spot and the service was excellent. For these reasons I would recommend anyone to stay at the Sheraton Stockholm.
But in the interest of full disclosure, there are a few minor negative things to point out. The towels are inferior. For a place billing itself as a four or five star property, they should supply a nice thick absorbant towel. The elevator requires you, once inside, to insert your key card in order to select your floor number. While we appreciate the security aspect of this, we were annoyed at how many times our key cards didn't work. It's possible no one else has had this problem but it was a hassle. After being in the room for a couple of days we began to notice small things like cracked tiles in the bathroom and black marks on the walls. The hotel has a slightly
'unloved' quality. And finally, room #420 has the single most ghastly piece of 'hotel art' I've ever seen.
