“Sheraton hits a home run”

Sheraton Stockholm Hotel

We were at the Sheraton Stockholm a year ago before the renovation, and returned this May. Sheraton hit a grand slam with their renovation of this property. Much more attractive lobby area. Staff all very friendly and helpful, even during busy times. We stayed on the Club floor; club lounge is MUCH upgraded from a year ago. Breakfast choices and snacks during the day are also better than a year ago. Club also now has two computers you may use for free.

Close to Gamla Stan (Old Town), City Hall, and the dock for the Drottningham Tour. (P.S. If you're expecting Drottningham to be another Versailles, you're in for a disappointment--but that's a different story).

No complaints at all. Sheraton aficionados will not be disappointed.

“A polished water front jewel...”

Sheraton Stockholm Hotel

Stayed at the Sheraton Stockholm during a "power shopping weekend" before Christmas and it was a pleasant stay!

I recommend you to stay at the Club Floor room, these rooms are very spacious and a soft calm atmosphere in itself. The bathroom had Molton Brown amenities and the room was fully equipped with flat screen TV, seating area, coffee/tea making facilities, iron board, safe and everything you can expect from an international first class business hotel.

The club room was nice with free coffee/tea and beverages 24h, and it felt as a small hotel in the large hotel. The Sheraton is a hotel giant with over 400 rooms and 800 guest this weekend. Therefore it was nice to stay at the Club Floor and enjoy the complimentary cocktail hour and the silent breakfast room. If you compare the club room with i.e. The Hilton Copenhagen, it not so nice and the selection are poor.

The lobby bar was busy, and the restaurant had lack of flexibility when we want something to eat for the Friday evening.

The house itself has been voted as one of the most ugly houses in Stockholm, but I think its pretty nice. In the lanes and the common areas your edge will feel it like a polished and new painting product, but overall it's nice and very fresh.

The staff in lobby and in the club floor was very nice and saw us as individuals, which was impressing. I would stay here again if I got a good deal!

Where do I start!!!!
Wallpaper coming away from the walls in fairly recently decorated hotel.
Asked for a quiet room and were sent to the room closest to a nightclub! This hotel has very busy roads on all sides so a quiet room is probably impossible!
Paid for a waterside view - joke! If we stretched we could see the water! Was moved to a lesser room(which was slightly quieter) looking onto an office block!
Although the room was recently refurbished the bed was the bed from hell - caused us to wake up with sore backs - my husband had to visit the physio when we came back to the UK! They claimed the hotel was full but we did not actually see a lot of people dining or moving around at anytime of the day or night!
The tissues holder in the bathroom was filled with sheets of toilet paper!
We attempted to get lunch around 13.00hrs but were told the only food available was a mixed platter in the bar - this we ate and went out for some real food!
Bar in room not re-filled as was the tea/coffee
It was the worst 5 star experience ever.
I could go on... did not enjoy our stay at all

We returned to the UK last night from a 3 night stay here with family, and had a most comfortable and enoyable stay.

My husband and I work within a luxury country house hotel in the UK and so we are particularly conscious of hotel and service standards. My only gripe was that the iron provided in our bedroom would not work (Room 231 if the management read this - forgot to mention it on check-out!).

Our Superior Twin Room was clean and spacious, with wonderful views. Beds extremely comfortable. Shower in the bathroom was powerful and hot. Power sockets in desk top suitable for different country's plugs an excellent facility. Didn't need to use my own adaptor.

All the staff were very pleasant, particularly the Concierge and the Restaurant Manager. The Reception staff were very knowledgeable, and Housekeeping provided extra towels very swiftly when requested.

No problems with accessing the 1-hour free internet access near the bar, and whilst the Restaurant was busy during our stay, it provided a nice 'buzz'. Food was good - plenty of choice at breakfast. Worth paying extra for if not included in your room rate, and simply having an inexpensive hot-dog for lunch!

Location is good for the old town, where there are plenty of little restaurants. City centre shops only 10 minutes walk, visited the Varsa which was a pleasant 35 minute walk away (we had two children in tow). Walked across the road to Scansen from there - do recommend a visit but comfortable walking shoes essential - lots of cobbled paths and steep gradients to climb! Central station is only 3-4 minutes walk, and the bus terminal from which we picked up the bus to Arlanda Airport was only 10 minutes walk.

All in all, a wonderful well managed hotel. The staff are motivated and happy, and the Sheraton have 6 very happy guests who will have no hesitation in booking here again.

“Best compromise between location and quality”

Warsaw

Area: The hotel is in walking distance to the historic part of Stockholm and to the train station and to a shopping avenue (each an about 10-15 minute walk away). We took a taxi to the Vasa Museum, but it might have been a walking distance as well. Few relatively good places to have lunch or “tourist dinner” are in close walking distance. A mongolian “almost all you can eat” restaurant is a bit shabby, but is just around the corner and food is served quickly.
In the hotel lobby: three computers with free internet access were all almost always busy, but potentially available, if needed. The bellman was unpleasant, but helpful.
Breakfast: We took a rate with breakfast included and were quite happy with it. The worst part of it was really bad quality coffee. The breakfast restaurant was a little to crowded and to noisy.
Room were nice. After looking at some other hotels in the area we were happy that we booked the Sheraton.
