“surprisingly poor experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We were a group of 3 who visited the restaurant after hearing great reviews. One of the group was a vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised that there were a few options available. However, due to the sharing nature of this restaurant it is not overly practical in a mixed group. The meat eaters had two dishes between them that they thoroughly enjoyed but the vegetarian option was absolutely appalling. I do not recommend trying the green curry. It was completely tasteless! No spice, no flavour at all and very watery. We were unable to eat any of it. We asked the waitress to check if something was wrong and she never returned. After asking a second waitress about it we were given no answers, no apologies and were treated rather rudely. It was the most expensive bowl of "nothing" we have ever paid for! Maybe with better service the night could have ended better and we would be tempted to return to try something else but this was a very poor experience and we will not go back. We wonder how a place can serve such good food at the same time as such terrible food.

“Uneven”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Uneven, most of the flavors are truly Asian, very deep and absolutely fantastic but getting dry chicken kind of offsets most of the buildup that was achieved. The concept of share food works great and the portions are very suited to share between 4 people.

The service personal are great, it almost feels like new waiters comes to your table every 10 minutes, very mixed ages but everyone was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

The restaurant itself is made up of one long room with high ceilings and an open kitchen on one side. It almost feels a bit impersonal, just a big dining room without any dividers. It also makes for a quite noisy atmosphere, which isn’t always pleasant.

Farang is well worth a visit, hopefully they’ll be more consequent in the cooking and the room might suit other better than it does me.

“Excellent food, brilliant service and good acoustics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

It was a long time ago since I was as positively surprised by a restaurant as I was with Farang a few weeks ago. Superb food, and a even more superb staff. And - like magic: the tables put pretty tight, but, while we had no problem hearing our selves talk, we didn't over-hear our neighbours conversation.

We started with the cha plu tamarind and tempeh, and was a very tasty bite. All flavours well balanced, and the perfect size to the little snack. We continued with the sashimi, the cripsy pork (one of the best I've ever had!), the veal's cheek and morning glory. I have no negative to say about those dishes. At all. Nothing. Zip zabbadidooo.

And the service was attentive, stealthy and very pleasant.

I'm stunned. Because I have nothing by good things to say about Farang. If anything negative would be said: why on earth did it take you so long to open in Stockholm?!!

Go to Farang. Eat their food. Have a yummy evening.

“A treat and something to remember!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We were a group of 6 ladies, celebrating one of us, who had her birthday when we visited Farang. We couldn't decide on a same menu for all, so we ordered from the list and shared the different dishes. I had pan fried scallops for appetizer and crispy pork with palm sugar caramel as main course. What a wonderful harmony of great taste! The food was superb! First it felt kind of funny to eat with a fork and spoon, but you soon got used to it, and could enjoy the wonderful sauce.

One of the owners, Tomi Björk, was working in the kitchen and was kind to pay our ensemble a visit. Our birthday girl even got a mouthwatering chocolate cake on the house, as it was her 50th birthday. The wines were good and quite affordable, there could be more wines by the glass, though. The staff was very friendly and took good care of us. Overall, a great experience! My warmest recommendations!

“Good but ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

We have ordered the most expensive menu with wine selection. So we were expecting the most and best out of it. Indeed we got it. But ... We were still missing something out of it. Not sure yet what. The place was not full and I feel lucky for it. Since once it is full I believe it will be quite noisy and may not be convenient for a cosy chat with your fiend or lover.
Anyhow. Food was good. Crispy pork was amazing. Excellent.
Wine selection was good.
Pity plates were not changed more often. Pity you could not eat with sticks.
Bill was a bit heavy for just two people 3200 sek.
