I have now dined at Matbod twice- and as I can only write well in English, I suppose this place my be 'off the tourist' center for visitors. However, Gamla Enkede is such a lovely neighbourhood, and near the amazing UNESCO site Skogsskyrkogården which is also a lovely spot to wander through. Therefore, I think visitors should brave the few train stops on the Green Line to eat and see a different part of Stockholm. But more importantly the food! First, to be safe, you should book a table. There is two outdoor areas, and a lovely inside area to eat. Often the only vegetarian option is a salad, but what a salad! Huge, fresh, with interesting twists, this time mine had honeydew melon chunks and feta cheese. The rest of my party had the lamb. One person had a side of roasted potatoes with a blue cheese dipping sauce on the side. The others had french fries and a side salad. The house wine is good and reasonably priced. The portions are a bit large by Stockholm standards. They have menus printed in English, and the wait staff will automatically switch to English when they overhear it being spoken. I highly recommend this place.
