“room too small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was ok. Now The wifi did not work and the room was the smallest I think I have ever stayed in. I will not return - for the price this hotel is not a good value. The room was in the basement - no light - very depressing - It is too bad because I could have been a repeat customer but definitely not going to return.

The hotel seems to have been redecorated very recently and the room was very nice and bright. We were a family of four in the room without the room feeling crowded (even though the bathroom could have been a tiny bit bigger). The breakfast was good and included hot food. We got a room heading towards a big an bright back yard, which made the hotel room very quiet (no noise from the surrounding streets). The hotel is well located within walking distance from many restaurants and bars.

Simply ignore the word "style"......it's like a beginner-work of decorater ! It's rather a Crossover....... kitsch, disfunctional, primitive, leftovers from the ex Wasa-Hotel..........and a expression for a(swedish= thechain is french) a great passion of watching the details.......lacking soap, lacking toiletpaper, lacking ,electrical cables like in a turkish basar, superwarm duvet's in the summer, but all somehow "decorated"................
In the (big) bathroom the filling of the tiles comes off (floor) or is mouldy (shower wall),no window there,no ventilator doing the job of exhausting ..........
As the other ones wrote: place is (not central) but good reachable by subway (T Odenplan),even coming from Arlanda-Airport (hopp off on St.Ericsonplan and walk 8 minutes on the Odengatan till the Wasa-Church),it's a quiet neighbourhood and as long you're not italian or french you find good resraurants in reach. As long as you respect "swedish ours" (I heard not only) to have dinner in the afternoon......at nine allkitchenare closed besides the fastfood-places!!!!! The staff is very very friendly, despite the often started working there a short time ago (student job's?).......after all : the girl from Bosnia and Johan.......
Conclusion:a little bit more detailwork and the place reach a good place in the ratings !
Critique: for less than the price there we stood in the almost fancy (in compare) Novotel (same
chain) in several places in Europe, after allin Berlin.
Proposal (from the heart!!!) :less decoration, more clean and functional.......
PS:be aware ,on friday night the svedes go crazy (despite their mormonic aproach with alcohol)
you might hear some late entries.......

Nearly everything about the hotel is good, check in, location, public transport and a very good breakfast, but even though I had booked the room two months in advance, we decidedly drew the short straw when it came to the room allocation.
Room 203, strictly speaking, is not in the main hotel. On the secnd floor, all the way along the corridor, up four steps, open a locked door, across the landing of an appartment block, open a second locked door and then open a third locked door which leads into the room. On a very hot day with a lot of baggage, hassle which I could well have done without.
The entrance to the appartment is about half the size of the bedroom. Suffice to say that in this latter, the bed takes up all the space, leaving about 40 cms on each side between the walls and the bed. No room for a bedside table. The only seating available in the room is a stool beneath the TV, a mirror is only available in the entrance, on the door of the clothes hanging space, or in the bathroom. However the bed itself is very comfortable and overall cleanliness is first class.
Pity about the room, although in conversation with other guests we learned of their satisfaction. Just try to avoid room 203 if you are a couple with baggage.

I stayed at the Ibis Styles Odenplan which is a both 2 minutes from the Odenplan metro station. Centrally located you can walk into the city centre in about 15 minutes. The Metro system in Stockholm is amazing and incredibly safe. Got a 72 hour ticket on my first day and it was the best way to get around this beautiful city.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is inner city so get a high level room if you are worried about traffic noise but this is also not a lot as it is off the main street.

Stockholm is expensive and thats just the way it is. Nevertheless, this hotel was good value for money. I had a single room to cut costs but it was spacious with a large balcony.

Room Tip: Great hotel, if you are there for a few days get a 72 hour travel card from the station.

If you want simple, inexpensive accommodation in Stockholm, this is not such a bad choice. No frills, clean and friendly staff. The room I got was probably the smallest I have ever had, not recommended for claustrophobics.

The only thing I would criticise this hotel for is the late start for breakfast at weekends. It is 0800. As a result everybody came to breakfast at the same time or so it seemed. I woulld suggest that breakfast on Saturday & Sunday should be availabe from 0700 !!
As for everything else it was excellent. It is about 200 metres from Odenplan T-Bana station which means that you can get into the centre of Stockhom very quickly.
I would certainly stay there again !!
