“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2011

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is a great deal, and the hotel is very nice for the money. We were looking for a budget hotel, but we got something much nicer. The breakfast is good, and it's just a nice walk to downtown. We were pleasantly surprised, and would return in a second.

Staff is friendly. Breakfast and wi-fi included. Location is good (close to subway although everything is close by foot as well). Rooms are big, comfortable but in need of renovation. Toilets are old and smell like a pool. Was quite affordable. I would not mind staying here again.

stayed here for 4 nights in november, hotels in stockholm are pricey so we booked this one as it was one of the cheapest, it is in a good location, 2 stops from central on the metro and about a 5 minute walk thereafter. fast check in and pleasant front desk staff, the hotel is in a fairly quiet street just off the main shopping area, the rooms are basic but very clean and have the usual amenieties you expect from a best western, breakfast was very good with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, cakes breads, meats and eggs, a good way to start the day.would stay here again if we came back to stockholm.

Stockholm is expensive and so this BW hotel is considered pricy by N American or even European standard. But in Stockholm, everything is expensive.

Location is fairly convenient. 10 minutes walk to town centre ( Sergels Torg ) and major shopping street ( Drottninggatan ). Or walk 3 minutes to subway station which is 2 stops away from centre.

Two supermarkets and one liquor store nearby plus several 7-11 around the corner. Many pubs/bars/restaurants within 2-3 minutes walking distance. So you pay for the convenience.

Hotel is basic ( typical N American 3 stars BW ) but neat and clean. Housekeeping OK. Breakfast is again basic but adequate. They have two blocks and so if your room is in the other tower across the street, then coming to the main tower for breakfast is not so convenient. Free Wi-Fi or use the two computer terminals in the lobby, again, free of charge.

Most girls at the reception are nice ( Karin is excellent ) but there are also 1-2 rude staff.

Will come back to this hotel again simply because of convenient location.

We found the Best Western Kom to be a delightful place to stay in Stockholm. The service was superb, starting from them allowing us to check in early, which was great after a night flight. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable - the reason I rated it very good (and the same for sleep quality) rather than excellent is because the mattress was too soft. The breakfast was lovely, including plenty for vegetarians, too. The location is great - a couple of blocks from a subway station and walking distance to many of the sights. For example, we walked to Gamla Stan. The reason I checked "average" for value is because Stockholm is simply expensive. For Stockholm, the price was as good as I could find for a room with private WC and shower in a convenient neighborhood. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Look, as long as you're not planning on spending much time in the actual hotel and keep your expectations low, it's actually got a few good points: Computers/internet in the foyer, good breakfast, good service, no problem with late check-in, fast lifts, cute mural in foyer.
Not so good points: Just old, shabby, daggy decor. A bit 70's - and not in a cool Scandanavian way. I'd recommend the hotel to a friend as the cheapest option we could find in a very expensive city, but then wouldn't recommend it because of the location - it's a bit removed from the action. Next time, I'd stay in Sodermalm.
A general note about Stockholm: The 'no alcohol consumption outdoors after 10pm' law totally robs the city of any buzz after dark.

Basic standardized hotel. Very good bed but bathroom was a bit old.
Price high although it was one of the cheapest hotels in Stockholm.
Breakfast was good.
