“Perfect location + value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Charming little place located so close to the liveliest Soder and easy walkable from the old city. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, free wifi, clean and quite rooms - everything you need when exploring such an amazing city as Stockholm!

Room Tip: Try herring they serve with the breakfast!

We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom, which was always spotlessly clean and tidy. Good shower as well- very powerful. The bonus of staying in a hotel rather than a hostel meant paying low prices but still getting the hotel facilities. Breakfast was really generous and tasty, staff were helpful and the room was spacious and airy. Really good value for the price. Location is nice as the area is not very touristy. Definitely recommended.

Hotel has great character and charm. The 1700's building has been a prison, a brewery and a hospital an it oozes history. There are hostel style rooms on the top floor with shared washroom and shower facilities. You do have to carry your luggage upstairs and it can be a long walk from reception to the upper rooms at the front. The breakfast was excellent and eating outside in the historic courtyard was a treat. Drinks snacks were available throughout the day. Great location within walking distance of many tourist attractions and a short walk from a subway stop. Overall this was a unique and interesting place to stay. Great for those who want something with character, but probably not the best for those who want a "cookiie cutter" style hotel or those with mobility problems.

Room Tip: There is a huge variation in room sizes. Upper floor rooms are small with shared bath facilities.

We stayed one night prior to sailing on the Star Flyer. The hotel was difficult to find with little in the way of a sign to indicate where it was located. There was no elevator, and no one to help us with our bags, and we had to carry our bags up two floors to the room. There was no effective temperature control in the room, there were no screens in the windows, and the room was sparsely furnished for the price we paid. Breakfast was worth the cost, and seating was available in the courtyard for our use during the day and evening. The lobby included seating available for socializing and refreshments. Our night clerk on 15 July 2013 was very helpful in describing the correct method to use our global cell phone to make calls outside the country. She made every effort to make us feel welcome while providing our refreshment needs.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are one floor up from the entrance level, and carrying bags up to the room is diff...

We stayed 2 nights here before our Baltic Cruise leaving Stockholm and really enjoyed Sweden! It is in a great location (one of the most important things about a hotel to me!), about 15-20 min walk from Gamla Stan, (although must take a cab to Djurgarden, unless you are up for another ~ 40 min walk from Gamla Stan, though do-able!). We walked to great restaurants nearby, and easy to get cabs from the main road, about 2-3 blocks walk. The hotel itself is cute, no more than 2 people/room and is in what feels like an old manor house. The breakfast included is great and very hearty. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend and stay here again!
