“Perfect location and great breakfasts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011 via mobile

I stayed for a week in December. Location was perfect for getting to know Stockholm with lots to explore in the neighborhood, too. I was totally satisfied with my clean and comfortable room. Staff were friendly. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic! I would definitely return for a stay!

A great hotel, well organised and staff very friendly and service minded. If you are more than two people travelling and need transportation from Arlanda airport to the hotel it's best and more cheap to get a service taxi to drive you direct there. If you are travelling back home and have a very early flight ask the hotel to book you a taxi again (45 minutes drive). It's very cheap thru them. Make sure you eat a good breakfast there before you start the day (5 star). It will keep you going till the evening. Internet if free all over the hotel just ask the reception to give you the access codes (each code is valid for 24 hours) so get some upon arrival!!! Sauna is pretty nice but is unisex so make sure you have a swimsuit on. The room service was fast but very very very expensive. The cleaning ladies don't speak good English (some of them) or only Swedish (one that we spoke to) so if you don't want to be disturbed in the morning make sure you hang outside the door your "do not disturb sign". Location was great. If you have any questions just go to the reception and ask. And if you are lucky enough to speak to Tomas the receptionist (another plus for the hotel) then thumbs up.
No a/c into the rooms though. Small fans are available for use. Don't let it bother you much though. Max temperatures in July was 25-26 celsius so that's not bad. Would definately stay there again!!!

Room Tip: Book well in advance, cheap rooms have side view hotel lobby and restaurant-cafe have a great view

First Hotel Reisen has a very good location. From the hotel you can visit Stockholm by foot if you want. Rooms are OK but small. Free wifi is available (as it should be in every hotel). Restaurant can be crowded at breakfast time but buffet is great.

The friendly atmosphere was felt with all at First Reisin Easy free internet access a bonus . Excellent breakfasts and reception was excellent in assisting our needs and directions . Rooms are very small and upgrades to a seaview room improved the view but not the size. We would certainly stay againat this ideally placed and comfortable hotel

We traveled to Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm, Tallin, Helsinki and Copenhagen for our vacation this year and even thou each place has its own charm, if we had to choose one as our favorite it has to be Stockholm. The hotel we stayed in, First Hotel Reisen, has a perfect location in Gamla Stan by the Royal Palace. The room was small but average by european standards, very clean, the breakfast buffet very good, the staff helpful and nice. I had researched other hotels and since this was my first time in Stockholm wanted to stay very near the center which this proved to be very good. Stockholm is a beautiful city, so much to see and do, it is quite expensive, but the same is true of all the other cities we visited. The weather was very nice, it rained sometimes, but being a coastal city the shower would end and the sun would come out. It could get a little chilly when you got a breeze and were in the shade, but otherwise very comfortable.

Room Tip: Our room faced a side alley with no view, it was noisy since they had garbage collection early in th...

We stayed in for five nights in a standard double, which was small but well appointed. Hotel Reisen is on the waterfront in Gamla Stan, the old town. The location is perfect for visitors who want to walk to the main sights and go on the ferries or canal boat rides. The breakfast that was included in our room rate was outstanding. Additionally, the hotel restaurant has a first-class chef who turns out excellent lunches and dinners. The front-desk staff were friendly and helpful, giving us restaurant advice, touring information and maps.

Unfortunately we stayed during a heat wave in Stockholm; the hotel provides electric fans but if you have to open the windows it can be quite noisy.
