“Great staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

The Filipino staff at breakfast and at the executive lounge are very warm, attentive, and engaging. I was blown away by the service they provided! Thanks to Haidee at the executive lounge for making sure we were comfortable. The food offering is excellent! Keep up the good job! The view from our room is very nice!

We stayed at this hotel Jan 2014, and stayed in a standard room. Great location, great choice for breakfast and good service. One comment make sure you up grade your room as some rooms over look offices not a great view.

The location is excellent, the breakfast superb and the people working there are all polite and eager to help and serve you. The room was very small, the bathroom, barely suitable for a "big guy" and the cleaning was not what someone would expect from a 5 star hotel of the certain chain.

I loved this hotel but: for the first 3 nights, we stayed on the side with a water view, on an upper floor. I adore fresh air, and you could open the french door to a little balcony -- but the noise from the two roadways and the trainlines that run on either side of the hotel was intolerable (for me). After 3 days, I asked to be switched to a room on the other side and - RELIEF! It was perfect.

I also recommend paying for the bed-and-breakfast rate -- they have a wonderful breakfast and you can take a few things for snacks later on.

The staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. One concerige helped me get a train ticket for my son, who was studying at U. Oslo and had met me in Stockholm. (He took a bus to get there, which took too long.) VERY nice.

Room Tip: I recommend a room on the non-water-view side. Much quieter.

We stayed at this hotel in for a long weekend in Jan 2014, we stayed in a standard room which was well appointed and clean. The room had view of the offices next door, but this was not important to us on this trip. The breakfast was included in our package, and was quite extensive with all tastes catered for, and the service was excellent. There are some road works going on at the moment, but in no way affects the hotel at this time of year. It is a two minute walk from Slussen station and within easy walking distance from Gamla Stan and other major attractions. we would return without question.

Room Tip: If a room with a view is important, then ensure you request this when booking.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

After checking in, we noticed that our toilet would not work so they had maintenance come up to take a look. After about a half hour, he said that it should "possibly" work now. Well, it didn't work. When we called to complain, they said that it will take a while to get someone to come and fix it again. There are some things I consider to be a must for any hotel and a functioning toilet is one of them. My husband finally had to go downstairs to talk to the front desk. He had to make the suggestion that maybe we can just switch rooms.....she didn't think to come up with that solution on her own. We had to re-pack and switch to a smaller room (we are diamond members so we were initially upgraded to the larger rooms). They also said that they did not have anyone to help us take our bags to the new room. Thankfully, the restroom worked in the new room. However, I did notice that all of the restrooms didn't work too well all of the time and the shower pressure was very poor. There was also a musty/septic smell emanating from all of the restrooms. The hotel just seems to have septic issues. The hotel staff was rude and not very helpful (for the most part). Housekeeping was not very thorough (they left our trash cans full which made me wonder what else they missed). The rooms were poorly designed (bulky furniture and closets that did not make sense if you actually wanted to fit some clothes in there). The executive lounge was nice to have but was also very poorly designed. There was tons of space but some people could not sit because they chose to use bulky and uncomfortable furniture. The coffee/espresso machine broke down often. The hotel was very centrally located and the executive lounge had some fantastic views. I would give this hotel a little above a two for that alone. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again.

Fantastic location, great bar, lovely rooms and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. (especially the concierge). Rooms overlooking the old town had a lovely view. Hotel was in a great location accessible to all Old town restaurants and bars and near the ferry and trains as well.
