“Good for Business Travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Stayed here during my first and only trip to Stockholm. As a HH Diamond member, I was able to stay on the executive floor in room with a great view of Gamla stan (Old Stockholm). The room was very nice and modern, but small; certainly indicative the smaller European/Scandinavian style/layout.

Good location with easy access to Slussen train station, and not far from the majority of the ferry ports. A lot of restaurants, transportation and shops nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfectly located near T-bana Slussen, just across the bridge you'll find historic Gamla Stan.Very good breakfast.Had a room upgrade to deluxe, with nice view, but a bit noisy because of trains and cars right underneath the window.Rooms had seen better times - damaged tiles in the bathroom e.g.,which weren't removed or repaired.Room was also not as clean as it should be, especially in this category. Disappointing: Hotel advertises a Sauna in its catalogue - by trying to experience that, must realize, that there is only a tiny little room beside the dressing room in the gym, seperated men and women, not inviting at all... Enjoyed the stay, because of locatian, breakfast and view - watch for special prices.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 15 years, even before it became a Hilton property. The location is great, next to the metro station Slussen. It is central and you get easily anywhere you want from there. You can even explore many parts of central Stockholm by foot from there.
The view from the breakfast room, the extecutive lounge, the rooms towards the old town and Riddarholmen is great, I can never get enough of it.
Over the years the hotel has been renovated and modernized, there has been an additional wing for some years now ( the rooms there are quite small, yet functional, but without the charm of the original building and, especially, without a view ). The hotel is in constant transformation and I think in general they succeed very well in keeping the hotel up to Hilton standards. When I stayed there two weeks ago, I was upgraded to an executive room which had been renovated recently and I loved it.
I also had the impression that the staff was younger than before, very helpful and competent and even friendlier than in the past.
Wifi is free for everyone now, not only for Gold or Diamond card holders, which is a nice innovation.
As a hotel guest, you have acces to the gym 24/7. The gym is a full blown fitness center of the World class chain with everything you need.
The only really disappointing thing about this hotel was the breakfast for me. I used to love it in the past and I remember that until two years ago, it was perfect Hilton quality, actually, we were looking forward to having breakfast every single day. When I was staying there in February 2012, breakfast seemed a lot poorer, sme things, like salmon and other Nordic or Swedish specialities missing. You could order à la carte, but the only time I did that I was not overwhelmed either. This time I was really disappointed by the breakfast. At first glance, you seem to have everythong you need, but then, nothing is as good as it should be. The muffins wre quite tasteless, no cinnamon rolls at all, lots of other things missing, too. I did not even inquire whether the à la carte option was still available...
My advice: if you get a good deal for a room, go for it. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff is great. If you'd have to pay a fortune or if you'd want to go there because of the breakfast, think about it twice.

Room Tip: If you can get a room with a view, take it! The panorama is breathtaking and really worth it, the ro...

The hotel was solid, but a few things that could have been better. We got an upgrade to the Executive level (as a diamond hilton member) and the service wasn't as great as in other locations for diamond members. However, the location was great. It was easy to walk to almost all points of the city - right across the water from the Old Town, the ferry to Djurgården was nearly right in front of the hotel. We stayed here for NYE and it was also an excellent location just outside the hotel grounds to watch fireworks from all different directions in the city. The hotel restaurant/bar were outrageously expensive, but so were most other restaurants in the city. The location was unbeatable and the hotel was comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly, but not all. We had a king executive suite which for Stockholm was spacious (but small to other standards). All in all it was a good stay.

we had a pleasure of staying 2 nights in deluxe plus room and 2 nights in king executive , the only difference between rooms is coffee machine ( nespresso) , exec lounge and huge tubs of shower gels in exec , both have great views but deluxe had a balcony . People on tripadvisor stressing on how nice breakfast is but its nothing more than a standart hilton breakfast plus meatballs , that kind of breakfast is a minimum what you should expect for the money you pay . one of the best parts of the hotel is gym , spacious ,well equipped and has a sauna !

Although the location is not in the old town, this hotel is excellent for business and personnel is really helpful and professional. Nice atmosphere during evening in bar and restaurant.
Breakfast has a great variety of choices.
If you want to do a lot of outing in the old town in December, you probably don't want a location where you have to walk.

I stayed at Hilton Slussen. The hotel is very well maintained. The rooms are very nice and the views from the hotel are impressive. The hotel is a quick walk into old town and just around the corner from some great places. The staff from the front desk to dinning and bar areas are super friendly. I was alway welcomed either getting off the elevator or walking in the front door with a smile. The hotel was very inviting after spending cold days walking around the city. The whiskey egg nog served in the bar was delicious.

Room Tip: Some rooms have views of the city and others face a building across the street. Mine faced the build...
