“Hilton Stockholm Slussen - AUgust 2012”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

I stayed here for 2 nights in August. I booked this hotel through a deal with American Express (otherwise I probably would have picked another hotel) and was not disappointed. Several of the reviews that I had read was that it wasn't in a great location because of the busy intersection/train tracks that run below. I actually thought it was a perfect spot for exploring Stockholm. Located in the Sodermalm neighborhood and right across a walkable bridge to Gamla Stan (old town and probably most popular tourist spot) the location couldn't have been better. I was able to walk almost everywhere and felt safe. Breakfast was included in my rate which I would suggest as it's very expensive in Stockholm; the breakfast was good with lots of choices. The only complaint I had was using the keys to activate the elevator. The front desk gave me a late 2 pm checkout and were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stockholm.

Yes the rooms are small, at least the room I stayed in was.! Those in the images are obviously not representing a standard or normal room.Bathrooms are VERY small. I would not say it is a 5 star. The staff a very nice and professional yet friendly and do what they can to help. Hotel is well situated but the trip from Arlanda will cost you approx 65 euro.Excellent breakfast ! Strange layout to the hotel though....depending on your room you may need to take an elevator down one floor ....walk to another elevator and then take it to your room floor.

Good location in the centre of Stockholm. Breakfast is good with variety and rooms are clean but nothing special. Reception staff is very friendly and always have a smile. I believe this is the best Hotel location in Stockholm everything is in walking distance only problem in Sweden is the prices everything is so expensive!!!!!! Just for an example I paid 60€ for menu 4 meals at Mac Donald’s!!!!

Bathroom is OK, hotel is well located, public spaces are fine but the room is way too small. Had just come off a cruise sip and wanted to spend a couple of days in Stockholm. Cruise ship stateroom was the lowest price level and hence the smallest. This hotel room was smaller! It was also much less well designed. The room we were in was just plain inadequate for two people. It would have been a tight fit for one. No adequate place for luggage, no storage space at all. And to add insult to injury, odd shape bed and the sheet didn't fit it!

Check in was delayed since room was not ready at 3:10 pm, as Hilton Honors Diamond upgrade to executive floor that includes access to executive lounge (EL). The room is great, standard size. The best thing about the King Executive with View room (4096) is the outstanding views of old town. Extremely quiet although close to the EL.

EL is great, very comfortable environment, even when it was full. Self service beverages, baked salmon, meat skewers, cheese, desserts, etc. extraordinary! However WiFi strength was very weak and dropped several times completely.

Breakfast is in restaurant area or in the EL. Great selection, coffee was better in the EL (Nespresso), but no muesli in the EL. I missed smoked salmon which was unavailable. All complimentary to Diamond members.

Train station is located just 200m from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants (blå dörren around the corner is highly recommended), market close by, brisk walk to old town (uphill way back).

We stayed in this hotel for a week. On arrival we were automatically upgraded to two junior suites with an interconnecting living room. The rooms were great and very clean. Our rooms also had wonderful views across the lake at Slussen. All the staff were really helpful and very friendly. A great hotel which we would highly recommend.

Well located. Easy walk to Gamla Stan and ferries for the islands. Handy Tunnelbahn station link to Central Station. The back rooms in building 3 are a bit like cupboards facing blank walls; however management was responsive to complaint and another room was made available. Comfortable bedroom with nicely designed bathroom. Bar at ground level for a having a drink at sunset.

Room Tip: Back rooms in one of the buildings have poor aspect
