“Good Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

We recently stayed at the Hilton for a couple of nights whilst in Stockholm to attend a friend’s wedding. We had a good stay; the hotel was well located for exploring Gamla Stan, rooms were comfortable, on the small size but this is usual in Europe and the space was well thought out, the room was quiet, and the bathroom a good standard. The hotel itself is in need of a little spruce up but given that we booked a 2 nights for 1 promotion I felt it was good value for money, especially considering how expensive the city can be. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate and set us up well for the day; something I’d definitely recommend thinking about when you’re booking your hotel if you’re on a budget. The gym was great and I was therefore disappointed that I didn't bring my kit with me; the hotel may wish to consider promoting this feature more. The staff were friendly and efficient. We did have a problem with the power sockets when we were getting ready to leave for the wedding but we didn’t report it until checking out the following day as we were running late. We appreciate problems occur but a response of ‘please accept our apologies’ would be a welcome addition to the response we received from reception, which was ‘thank you for bringing it to our attention’. These are small criticisms however and I would stay here again if the rate was competitive when compared to other options.

Room Tip: Stayed on the side with no view which was fine, but the view from there other side looked lovely. Av...

A typical Hilton except that it felt like a smaller hotel than it actually is. It has a delightful outdoor bar/cafe which is great for people watching, at least in summer. It is very quiet as it is distant from traffic. Nevertheless, it is right at the bridge to Gamla Stan, so we walked almost everywhere. It is adjacent to a really interesting neighborhood to the west that follows a ridgeline overlooking Stockholm -- very historic. The locals flock to the area, but I saw little tourist evidence. Also the neighborhood to the south is very interesting -- more of a typical neighborhood and popular with young people. Bicyles may actually outnumber pedestrians in this area, at least in summer! The rooms in the hotel are cleverly designed, with the most ingenious use of closets and shelves in a compact space. It is very easy to unpack for the week and be very organized. Good bathroom with great shower. And most important in summer, reasonably good air conditioning (at least by Scandinavian standards).

We stayed one night at the Hilton in Slussen, Stockholm and we loved it. Even though it is a chain hotel, the rooms were above average in presentation. There was a fantastic gym in the hotel, which can be accessed by hotel patrons all night if they wish- a lovely surprise and change from the normal dingy hotel gyms.
The location of this hotel was great too- not too far from the central train station (I would not recommend walking with luggage from the train station as we did- better off either catching the underground train or a taxi), it was right at the start of a shopping street, and there were loads of little restaurants within walking distance. The hotel breakfast was great too- being a large hotel, they are able to provide a large choice of different hot and cold foods to suit every taste.
All in all a great hotel- I definitely recommend staying here.

The Hilton was a great base for us for a short break to Stockholm with our new baby. The room was lovely, quiet and spacious. Breakfast was a highlight and kept us going til mid afternoon! Staff were always helpful and had good tips on Stockholm. Only complaint is that it is a bit pricey, however Stockholm isn't a cheap city and this is probably a reasonable price for Stockholm.

Room Tip: there is a bar outsidat one end of the hotel and I imagine rooms near this might be noisy so you may...

We stayed in the Slussen for a family weekend. We stayed in the Slussen before and have had both regular as executive rooms. The down side of this hotel has been mentioned before: all rooms are relatively small - even for European standards, the regular rooms even more so then the executive ones.

Having said this, the hotel ticks every box: Location is great. 2 mins from the Slussen undergroundstation and just on the other side of the bridge of Gamla Stan. The hotel offers a very good breakfast with all the Hilton basics plus a lot of fresh fruits and dairy produce. Housekeeping is efficient and good and if you are in a room overlooking the water you'll have killer views over the city. Walking to the Sodermalm part of the city you'll find an abundance of pubs/restaurants around Medborgersquare. The executive lounge is solid, with a variety of snacks / cakes but as to expect in Sweden rather meager on alcoholics (no wine/beer during daytime).

Best thing about the Slussen however is the staff. They are without exception very friendly and helpful. Obviously, like all Swedes, they speak very well English.

Needless to say we'll be back in the Hilton Slussen.

Very close to the Slussen metro station in Stocklom(walking distance 2-5 mins), only 2 metro stations away from the Central Stockholm station. Many restaurants close by the Hotel. Many monuments nearby. Great hotel, very very very clean . Very impressive. Will go back again.
