The best part of the Scandic Continental hotel is the location: across the street from the main entrance of Stockholm Central Station (including the airport's bus terminal), in the middle of the city centre, in walking distance from many touristic attractions (Gamla Stan, City Hall, etc.). The hotel itself is OK, but nothing special. We booked a three-person room, which was quite cramped, but with two it would be OK, nice bathroom. We were a bit disappointed about a few things though. Most importantly, we booked this hotel because of it's supposedly eco-friendliness, but that aspect of the hotel wasn't too impressive. For instance, everywhere in the hotel and on their website it says that you don't need clean towels everyday and that when you don't throw them on the ground, they will not be replaced. Unfortunately, three out of four days they were replaced anyway (even after we reported this at the reception desk). Another thing is that the elevators are quite noisy, which you hear quite well especially at night of course. Also, a safe in the room (for laptops etc.) would be nice, but valuables can be left at the reception desk during the day. Some positive points as well: the breakfast buffet (which is included in the price) is very good with lots of options, including quite some organic products; e-mails with questions are answered quite promptly and reception staff is friendly in general.

I stayed two nights at the Scandic Continental and arrived after almost 40 hours of flights direct from New Zealand. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room on the 7th floor away from the lifts. The room was a reasonable size by Scandanavian standards with two single beds.
As others have mentioned the key feature of his hotel is its location directly option the central station. Thiis was my third visit to Stocholm in the last 12 months and after fighting the traffic on the previous two visits we elected to use trains this time hence the decision to stay here. This worked well - impressed with the Arlanda Express to and from the airport. I would stay here again although my colleague who had a room on the 1st floor found things a little noisy.

When I read that the cabin rooms had no windows - I was a little worried... Would I be claustrophobic? But I was still looking forward to staying in a different style of room for the standard hotel offering.

The hotel was easy to find, right opposite the Central Train Station where the Airport Buses arrive (40 mins, 95 SEK).

The room was compact, with mirrors all round. It really did feel like a cabin. It was comfy and quite a different experience from a standard hotel room. The lighting meant I did not feel enclosed at all. It was really cute. Definitely a memorable stay. Though there is not a lot of storage and even my little suitcase did not fit under the bed.

I got a good price for this room, and when I was researching it was a better deal than a hostel. And included breakfast.

The service really set this hotel apart from many others. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. It made me really look forward to exploring the city and learning more about Stockholm.

I stayed 2 nights on a business trip at the Scandic Contitental hotel in Stockholm. What I liked about the hotel most: location. the metro station just under the hotel made it very easy to commute. Main attractions, such as shopping areas and the old town were also within walking distance.

On the other hand the hotel was located on a very busy street, so the traffic noise was quite loud in the night as well. The central station seemed to attract some drunken people, even if on monday and tuesday, so one night I woke up in the night as people were shouting and singing on the street!

The room was big enough for 1 person, and very clean, but maybe a little old fashioned. I had to struggle for a while to get the shower working... Breakfast was nothing special.

All in all, I might stay at this hotel another time. The stay was totally ok.
