“Clean, Close and Good Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

You couldn't beat this place for location. Right across the street from the Central Station where the Alanda Express terminal is. And the elevator to the T-Centralen TunnelBana (subway) is 20 feet from the front door. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus is 200 feet away and the tourist office where you can get the Stockholm card is 1/2 block away. We walked to many attractions and restaurants.

It was a pretty big room, quiet, clean solid surface flooring, clean feel throughout.

Breakfast was vast! The scrambled eggs were a little sad, but they have both hard and soft boiled eggs, which were great. Lot's of great food to choose from. Breads, meats, fish, juices, cereals. Maybe 50+ things. Pleasantly stuffed each morning.

I needed to sign a high resolution form(for my business) and the hotel helped me print it out and scan it and Email it back efficiently. So the front desk, gets an "A".

Yep, I'd do the hotel again.

Room Tip: The "Red" Hop-on, Hop-off bus was worth it. 60 SEK off if you have a Stockholm card, reco...

We got to the Hotel before noon, so we now it was to early to check in but you never now..
They said the room wasn't ready yet and we have to come back around 2 p.m wich is normal to check in....but again the room was not ready at 2 p.m. and the guy said to wait a couple of minutes, we asked him to warn us when the room was ready and we were sitting in the lobby. So we waited and waited, around 2:30 p.m we asked again but "our" room was not ready, so we asked to give us another room that was ready....but that was nos not how it worked at the Scandic hotel. After 3p.m we asked again and somebody said...yeah, your room is ready, but they neclected tell us when we were still waiting in the lobby, we had to find out ourselves...so we had to wait for almost 90 minutes to get a room wich we already prepaid and was about 150 euro... once in the room, it was like a sauna and no posibility to open a window or turn down the heat or turn up the AC..
So no more Scandic Continental for us when in Stockholm again...!!!

This hotel is in a perfect location and that is it's saving grace! The rooms are tired and outdated; not to mention the receiption area. Stockholm is expensive but this hotel is out of the ballpark. Breakfast is a bun-fight and the service is non-existant.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we were picking up a cruise in Stockholm. Like other reviewers we chose it because of its location and because it was one of the few rooms where a family room was available.

I must say I can't agree with a previous reviewer who said the staff were unfriendly and dim. We found them most helpful and welcoming. I would stay here again - good value for money in a very expensive city

Arriving at the hotel you step into a dim reception area, and you're half-heartedly greeted by equally dim staff. No smiles, no "welcome" or anything. The rooms are small and dated, everything feels like it's been at least 20 years since the renovated the place.
Breakfast was ok, and the location is great (if you want to be close to the Central Station).
I would happily pay twice as much to stay at another hotel next time, so lesson learned.

Value is a relative concept in a city like Stockholm. I chose the Scandic as it was significantly cheaper than the nearby Sheraton where a conference I was attending was held, yet not what I would typically consider a bargain price in other cities. I found the hotel without a map after stepping out of the Arlanda express airport train, which was a huge convenience after a late night flight. The room was spacious with some recent updates, but overall had a dated feel. The face stockholm amenities were a nice touch and I slept soundly. The staff was friendly and efficient and the complimentary breakfast had a wide selection of food.
Overall, a good alternative to other more pricey business hotels for a too-short stay in Stockholm.
