Stayed at the above hotel for 6 nights in October , only arrived at the hotel just before midnight , due to ` bad flights - stopover in Paris ` , From the Arlanda Airport in Stockholm , took the express train to Central station , then on the underground ( look out for the T sign ) , one stop to " Ostermalmstorg " , and exitted at stureplan , from there it was a short walk ( about 5 mins ) to the hotel , which is straight ahead.

As usual ! , I was a single traveller , i had requested a ` smoking room ` , yet the hotel is totally non-smoking , which i feared may be a problem , but turned out fine , as you had free and easy access in and out the hotel , ie , you didn`t have to keep ringing a bell etc to get in

The room was very clean , smart , and small ! , but more than adequate for my needs - I only had 2 bags of luggage - but there was enough space to store everything away.. Pleased to see there was a kettle in the room with complementary tea and coffee - which is a nice touch , I stayed in room 110 , which is at the front of the hotel

The bed indeed did have a ` wraparound ` which at first i thought was strange , but worked ! , the bed was very soft and cosy , and although i`m 6`2" , still did the job , also the cleaning staff were excellent , and were more than happy to help

The bathroom was fine , plentiful towels etc , handwash / shower gel provided / it was spotlessy cleaned , and as for ` hot water ` , i never had a problem with that

The Breakfasts were superb ! , there was so much to choose from , and the staff there were constantly ` on the go` , clearing used plates etc away , replenshing the stocks of food , it was a pleasure to go there each morning !

As for the other Staff in the hotel , well i suppose i`m leaving the best to last , each one was so helpful ! , usually in hotels , there is someone who , you are kinda praying isn`t on the desk , so you can avoid them , yet they were all so helpful in suggesting shops , which would be suited for me - ( in my case it was to buy records and cd`s )! ( if you are looking for vinyl / records - go to ` St Eriksplan ` , there are around 7 record shops all along that street )

About the Swedes in general - they all speak excellent english , and seem more than happy to help , which for me was a lifesafer !

Forget to mention , the hotel also has internet access in the lobby , which more often than not , was available to use , so that was nice too

The only minor / bad point was on the Friday / Saturday night , it was harder to fall asleep due to the noise from the street below , it wasn`t that bad , but it`s only fair to point it out , of course if you`re staying in any city , you should expect that ! , The hotel itself is in an excellent position , the nearness of the underground , meaning of course you can get anywhere , also just up the road from the hotel is a 7 11 shop , which is handy for snacks etc

Without doubt i would stay there again - i`d be daft not too , Again it`s one of ` those ` hotels you don`t want people to hear / get to know ` too well ` , for fear of not being able to get a room there again !!!

This was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast had a wide variety of hot and cold selections, even waffles. I would definitly stay here again.

Great location and furnished in good taste. Not terribly clean (I found a supersized dead fly in the closet and a bunch of hair in the water basin, and the room was dusty). Breakfast was OK. Information at folder and desk partly outdated. One receptionist was knowledgeable and nice.

  • Liked — Location and style. Close to shops, movie theaters etc. Beautifully furnished.
  • Disliked — dust

This hotel has a great location, and has a lot of charm. I was there on business, and paid SEK 880 for a single room, which is a great price in Stockholm. The check-in was swift and the staff friendly. The hotel is old with high ceilings in the corridors. The security seemed to be good - cameras in the corridors, and peep-hole in the door. I was upgraded from single-room to small double-room, and the room was nice and modern. Indeed small, but very well furnished. The double bed was comfortable, but only ca 140 cm wide. The shower was very tiny, so if you are a big person, you might not have too much room in there. Minibar, coffee- and tea-making-facilities. Breakfast included, and was served at the Chinese restaurant next door. Good food with a nice variety of warm and cold food, fruits and cereals. All in all - a good alternative to a lot far more expensive hotels in Stockholm. By the way, the double rooms seemed to be nice and spacious - I admit that I glanced into a few that were getting cleaned, while I passed them in the corridor.

  • Liked — Location, price paid for the room
  • Disliked — Small room

We stayed at the Crystal Plaza for a one night stopover. It was a few blocks from the metro station, a very convenient location within walking distance to the city centre and gamla stan (30 minutes). The receptionist was friendly and helpful - our room was on the top floor. It was clean, and had an Ikea-esque feel with light wood floor and desk. The private bathroom was an average size, though the shower head was oddly placed (as they all seem to be in Europe). Turn on the water and the bathroom gets sprayed as the glass/plastic partitions are not directly in front of the line of fire. The main thing is that there was a shower, and enough hot water to go around :) The breakfast was included in the room rate and is provided in the Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel. A little strange, but a good variety of things to eat -- the usual breads/cereals, fruit, boiled eggs, yogurt...with fried chinese noodles on the side. It was a good value for a good price -- I would stay here again.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, convenience
  • Disliked — The shower
