“Location and price - yes. Bed and breakfast - no.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012 via mobile

The location is great. If you go to any nearby hotel you will have to pay double or more. But you get what you pay for. Rooms are worn, although the bathrooms are excellent, and the breakfast is served in the adjacent Chinese restaurant. The beds are extremely hard.

Lobby seems a bit tired but everything else very good and an excellent choice in this price range. Rooms small (but not super small by European standards) but nice clean lined design, very clean, good bathroom. Free wireless in rooms and at a hotel computer in the lobby. First class breakfast with a wide range of very good quality choices. Superb location - less than 15 minutes walk from the waterfront and less than 30 minutes walk from anyway most visitors are likely to go. Very friendly staff.

The reviewers below have said it all - this hotel is in a brilliant location with all the sights in walkable distance and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We were visiting Stockholm to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday and they gave her the most charming room to stay in. I had opted for a single room which was equally comfortable (a bit small but that's the same the world over!). The breakfast buffet is delicious and very good value. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stockholm and would stay here again.

Stockholm in general is rather expensive for the megre UK salary, but this place is a real find. I was going with work but wanted to book somewhere nice ish so i could take my partner as well. Thing is, any really nice hotel is super expensive, usually right on the harbour, not condusive to work expenses! Anyway i found this hotel which was a reasonable price for Stockholm. And I'm really glad i booked her. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The design of the hotel is really cool, Art Nouveau i think. Old elevator with swinging iron door, its really pretty. The rooms are small ish but clean and simple, mine had a lovel little balcony overlooking the street which was really nice, kind of reminded me of Paris. The location is great, its about a 20 minute walk from the train station, it is in a quite posh area, really nice (way too expensive) shops, really safe with some nice restaurants and bars near bar. It was nice to stay here but to head to the funky part of town (Gamla Stan) its probably about a 35 min walk, which is a nice walk and more or less straght down the single main street. Gamla Stan is great (jazz bar there is really funky). Overall, this was a lovely place to stay and good value for money, remember Sweden is more expensive than UK, you are looking at about £6-£7 a pint. There is a Swedish sauna which you can us on your own for free, book at reception. no pool. Highly recommended though

The Crystal Plaza hotel was a brilliant choice for a city break in Stockholm.
We arrived in the City from Skavsta a couple of hours before it stated on out reservation details that we could check-in. We headed to the hotel regardless hoping that we could store our luggage somewhere, to be told that we could actually check into our room early (free of charge) which was brilliant. We had also requested a high floor with a room overlooking the courtyard as recommended by other guests on trip advisor, which was adhered to. This turned out to be a good choice as the hotel is situated in a busy area where there are lots of bars which are open until the early hours. The room was very comfortable and warm which was good as the weather was very cold, and the bathroom was modern and clean.
The reception staff were very helpful in giving us maps and recommending places which we should go to visit.
The breakfast was brilliant with a wide variety of choice and something to suit everyone, and the food in restaurant Ming is also nice for evening meals. After a long day of walking and exploring we got a takeaway and they let us take it up to our room.
The location was ideal with lots of restaurants, bars, shops and tourist attractions very close by. Even thought the weather was terrible during the majority of our stay we walked most places so that we could see more of the city, but nothing was really too far away.
On our last day the hotel staff also said that we could check out later free of charge or store our luggage in a store cupboard for the day so that we could make the most of our last morning before heading back to the airport. I really could not find fault with the reception staff and felt as though they went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay comfortable.
There is so much to do in Stockholm and I would love to go back- I would definitely book the Crystal Plaza hotel again and would definitely recommend it to others.

My sister and I stayed for 7 days over this past Easter Holiday. Hotel Crystal Plaza turned out be an excellent choice. Check-in and check-out were easy and problem free! The Front Desk was really helpful and even gave us a recommendation for a Swedish pizza place around the corner. We found the pillows, beds, room temperature to be quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean and up to date. The complimentary breakfast had nice variety and was well stocked. The location is great! 10 minute walk to the nearest “T” station and a bus stop just up the street. We found it central to all the sites we wanted to see. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed there January 2007 and the room at first seemed fantastic, it was round, classy and huuuge , but then we realized it s was too cold for a family with a small baby. Plus the stuff wasn't very friendly and after we checked out the cost was withdrawn twice. Hopefully we managed to solve this issue, but it sertainly left bad impression
