The location of this hotel is good but I was very disappointed with my room. Upon entering, the hotel looks very nice. I was there in the morning (about 11am) and had requested an early check in but the desk advised I could not. I asked if I could go ahead and check in so that a good room could be blocked and was told no. We checked our luggage with them and went out for the rest of the day.
We arrived back at 6pm and checked in. The elevator is so tiny (vintage building) that only one person with luggage can fit so we took separate elevators. We opened the door to the room and it was extremely warm. It was hot in Stockholm that day. I called the desk asking where the air conditioning thermostat was and was told the hotel is not air conditioned "but air circulates throughout the hotel". I could feel no such circulation. I opened the window to let air in. Much to my chagrin, it was noisy. As it turns out, if you stay on the left hand side of the hotel you overlook a walkway to a pedestrian tunnel which connects one street to another. This was a busy walkway...people on cell phones, music playing, loud kids, etc. but if I wanted air I had to put up with noise....not advised if you are tired and want to go to bed before 11pm (when the tunnel closes).
I called and asked to change rooms and was told I was in one of the better rooms but could upgrade to a junior suite for a substantial charge. I said "forget it". (This was the same person who told me "air is circulating throughout the hotel").
The room was tiny. There is no work space, just a small table with 2 chairs so this is not the place for a business traveler. The bathroom had been redone and was extremely clean. The bizarre thing was the shower set up (shower only, no tub). It was a glass enclosure but there were gaps in the glass so water went all over the flower. I could barely open the door because it scraped on the floor. There are no shelves in the shower so you have to put the soap and shampoo on the floor....very strange. Considering that this was a recent renovation (at least it appeared to be) somebody didn't do their homework. Also, they don't provide wash cloths so bring your own!
Pros: location, cleanliness, flat screen tv
Cons: no air conditioning (problem if it is hot), tiny room, no work space, shower, noise if window is open and you are overlooking pedestrian walkway
Based on my experience I don't consider this a four star hotel. 3 start is stretching it.
