“nice place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Place is a combination of a history and tradition of Sweden with the ZOO and some entertainment park type of activities. It is very interactive place and has plenty to offer - food & coffee places, hands on activities for kids, kid’s entertainment, even interaction with certain type of animals. During Valborg, Midsummer, Christmas they have special attraction such as traditional open fire with song (Valborg 30th of April), traditional Midsummer celebration during midsummer in June, and Christmas market and carols during the Christmas season. Also the location and the view is spectacular. I highly recommend it.
Skansen is easy to access either by walking from the city centre, by tram 7 or buss 69 or ferry boat from Gamla Stan

“Scandinavian animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

One thing about cities is that you often miss what the country really looks like. So I definitely recommend Skansen when in Stockholm. It's really close, access by ferry boat from Gamla Stan or by Tram line 7. Really nice time, and the animals are amazing: bears, wolves and really fluffy rabbits!

“Unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

We really enjoyed our trip to Skansen. It was a great way to spend a sunny afternoon. I wouldn't recommend it in the rain as it is entirely outdoors.

If you're a tourist visiting Stockholm, then it is definitely worth visiting.

“Slightly disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

Guess I picked the wrong time by visiting in November. Although it is slightly cheaper than the summer months, some of the sights (e.g. Solliden Stage, dance floor) either had no performances or were closed. Swedish autumns/winters seem to be cloudy and rainy, so there were not many good photo-shooting opportunities. But at least the Scandinavian wild animals haven’t started hibernating yet (!) – I found that part (with foxes, elks, bears etc) most interesting. Food stalls dotted around the park are still open if you fancy a hot snack. The Restaurant Solliden also offers good hot food at a reasonable price (good for family). As most of the museum is out-door, if you are planning to visit in autumn/winter, make sure you wrap up warm! I would definitely recommend going in the summer instead.

“No place like it!!!! :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

I have been visiting Skansen every summer for the past 8 years. It is a wonderful place where you are one with nature and the animals, yet it is in the heart of Stockholm.
My daughter (6 years old),my mother and grandmother all love it.
It is truly something for all ages!!!!
This is a must visit.
