Stockholm was covered in bright white snow which made our trip to Skansen even better. At 100 ish sek it's worth the trip into here. The museum is vast and you get a map showing you all the different places - the old barn house, the school, the zoo.. It's nice to look at all the old buildings and they're such lovely colours. My favourite part was the animals - there were bears, wolves, wolverines, hogs, bisons, seals amd owls though I didn't see them, and horses/ponies.
You can spend a few hours walking around the site and there are some lovely views out over Stockholm.
If you have a keen interest in Swedish life I would recommend this museum. You can learn about how they used to live and in some of the buildings there are people dressed up and playing along with their setting - I walked into a farmers cottage and there was a lady with a bonnet on, playing with yarn with the fire blasting toasty heat out.
The gift shop at the end is great, there's lots of good souvenirs and at similar prices to the tourist shops in Gamla Stan - in fact a few things I got were cheaper than alternatives in tourist shops. The staff in this shop were nice too.
