“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

When I visited, some rooms were closed for a function but there was still plenty to see. There was a really interesting exhibition at the time "Exploring Egypt: Queen Victoria's photographic life".

“Lots of activities!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Tickets include tours of the Royal Apartments, Treasury, Tre Kronor museum (basically a history of the castle) and the baptism of the princess. The winter hours are terrible (the museum closes at 3 pm), but you have up to 7 days to visit all the attractions listed on the ticket. Guided tours are included in the ticket and are very helpful. Note that the tour of the treasury meets at the bottom of the stairwell where you can also buy tickets (we were waiting upstairs and missed the first few minutes!)

“Royal Palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

The palace was built in mid 18th century and replaced the old castle that burnt down in 1697. It is among the larger ones in Europe and has a number of interesting museums:
- The state rooms (dining, receptions etc)
- The Armoury
- The Royal Chapel
- The Antiquities Museum
- The Museum for the Old Castle
- The Treasury
At 12 you can watch the changing of the guards in the courtyard. The Palace is definitely on the top 5 list.

“Grand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Immense building, I would recommend visiting it in several days. I did not take the tour, which I regretted because it would have enriched the experience. If you can, see the change of the guard. Thinking it was a tourist trap, we were originally not planning on doing it. However, just by chance the change of guard took place when we were near by, and it was totally worth it seeing it.

“Part of History that lives on..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Enormous Royal Palace! Over 600 rooms. Take the opportunity to go on a free (included in the admission price) guided tour of some of the Royal Palace rooms! It is very interesting to experience a part of history as the Palace was originally built in 1600s, yet is still part of the Swedish culture and is still in use.

In the winter time the museum is open from 12pm-4pm, and may be crowded.
