“Aristocrat living”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Small but well stocked museum showing a home of years gone by. Good porcelain and furnishings and special exhibition of underwear (which was an entertaining bonus)

“Interesting for about a half hour or so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Was interesting, but much bigger and better sights to see in Stockholm. Some sort of weird exhibit on undergarments going on when I was there.

“The rich housewife of Stockholm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

A super visit for antique dealers and collectors. Imagine living in Stockholm, with almost unlimited financial resources, building a beautiful house on one of the finest streets, and simply stuffing it full of everything that you appreciated that came up at auction......

It is amazing how tastes and styles have changed. This woman was extremely interested in paintings and porcelain.

The tour guides (in many languages) are very well informed.

For the antique dealers: this Museum is just across the bridge from the auction house, Bukowskis.

For Mediterranean's and vegetarians: there is a very comfortable, Lebanese lunch restaurant just a few steps from the front door. Good value. A very friendly. Serve yourself lunch buffet which I found very good value.

“A wonderful insight into how a wealthy family lived 100 years ago”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

This is a lovely museum and very easy to miss as it only has a small sign outside. There is an extraordinary collection of porcelain and other household items used in the house. There was also a temporary exhibition "Beneath the Covers" which was an exhibition of men's and women's underwear from the last 200 years. No wonder the wealthy needed ladies maids and valets to help them get dressed. It was quite arduous, especially for the women. Children would probably enjoy this temporary exhibition.
