Location on pedestrian street .shops and train walking distance .we have car which
Of course you have to pay for parking in hotel garage . If you have a car in Sweden count on adding a parking fee in to you budget. The good news must hotel web site till you if a charges
The front desk was very very helpful and friendly . Everyone speaks English
Breakfast and an evening buffet is included which helps a lot since eating in Sweden is very expensive
There is coffee , tea , water , cookies and fruit in the lobby all day.
It is about a 45 minutes to one hour drive to the crystal country
You can get some good deals . Any you buy can be shipped back home the shipping adds to the deals you get but worth it .
We join the hotel and area very much

We stayed three nights. All the time we were met with a big smile by the receptionists. The rooms in the mini-suite were spacious and we enjoyed to have a balcony as well. Breakfast was comprehensive as was the complimentary dinner buffet. It would have been helpful to, in advance, be informed how to get to the hotel by car, since the hotel is situated in a pedestrian area. Parking is available "around the corner". Further, Växjö is a small town with a condensed city center. Every attraction is easily reached on foot.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

I recently stayed at this hotel for a training course I had in February this year. The hotel was nice and modern. Very clean front desk and overall. The room was small, but I guess you dont need much as you are away working all day then you just need it to sleep. Shower room was no very good as the shower was damaged and I had to hold the shower head to actually get any water on me to wash, there was no heating in the shower room, so after a warm shower, as soon as you opened the glass door, the chill of the room came right in and made you cold instantly, then again as you open the shower room. TV was a good size, and had 2 english speaking channels. The food was very poor, I was forced to eat at McDonalds every night because there was no choice of food from the "Buffet"? that was just for dinner. Breakfast was a very european continental breakfast with a lot of ham and cheese and fruit, but no major choice of cereal and the "cooked" food was over cooked everyday. The whole staff could speak english which was very beneficial as I did not speak the local language. Staff was happy to help and give directions on where to go. I advise to eat out, but it depends what you like. Bed was comfy and room was warm enough.

Room Tip: Get a room central to the hotel and away from the streets as the snow ploughs and gritters will wake...

Hi, i was in this hotel for business for 3days in begining of DEcember, room rather small and it was a little bit cold.... Sanitary ware in bathroom worked good, tv, fen enogh light and wi-fi.zone for breakfast also small but food was nice and it was enough for all guests. Bar on lobby and nice reception, small stores just opposite the hotel. I really like it and can 100% recomend it to my friends.

I've stopped here twice and the overall experience is ok. Friendly staff and ok food, breakfast and tea. Rooms are a bit dated and not as modern as I've stopped in. However very comfortable beds and facilities. Good central location, parking available underground and around the corner. Excellent free WI-FI. Would recommend to anyone stopping on business as long as the company is paying. I thought it was a bit expensive for what was offered. But please don't be out off staying here, overall, nice place to be!

In general we try to avoid large chain hotels, so we were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Cardinal. We arrived during a total downpour in August and had difficulty figuring out how to get to the hotel as it is on a pedestrian street. We finally paid to park in a nearby parking lot until we were checked in and directed to the hotel garage. We paid around $20 to park there, but that was more than compensated by the very acceptable buffet dinner which was free of charge. There was even a small bar where we could get a glass of wine.

Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet and the bathroom had a nice tub/shower.

The staff were pleasant and helpful and directed us to the nearby Emigrant Museum and the Glass Museum next to it, both of which were well worth visiting (in between dodging downpours!)

I stayed at this hotel during the weekend, when the small city of Växjö had a festival. (We were there not for the purpose though!). Due to the fact that hotel is located in very central area, it was very noisy till late midnight (I think it is just our bad luck - seems to be very quiet city if normal occasion). Well we are given the key to 2nd building, which was a kind of shock. Then entering the room, another shock - it is not like a hotel room that you can imagine. I thought it was a meeting room! Only necessary stuff (Well, even missing some toiletary stuff as 4star hotel) was prepared, very businesslike atmosphere. Maybe my expectation was too high, the gateway to the Kingdom of Crystal but there was no welcoming atmosphere in a room. Somehow the quality of the bed was good. Evening buffet service was also nice since we arrived late. Breakfast - just normal. Doubt if this is really 4star hotel, it was just average. Maybe next time I would try another less expensive hotel nearby.

Room Tip: This hotel has several annexes, ask the receptionist to arrange a room in main building otherwise fo...
