“Exotic in Umbria”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2014

This is a simple restaurant featuring Southern Italy in Umbria (Central Italy). You can go on for all night with varied Antipasti cold and hot, pizza, pasta with Southern sauces or local sauces. There are meats and vegetables too of course. The fare is good, service courteous, Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We find it a very convenient and pleasant solution when in that part of Italy.

“Great little restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

We ate here as we couldn't find another restaurant in the small town of Giove! However, we found we liked the food so much we wouldn't have gone anywhere else. We had pasta and pizza dishes and they were all very nice. A small carafe of quite acceptable local wine was only 3.5 euros. There was always nice linen on the table and the waiter was always very friendly and happy. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

“Eating like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Nice little restaurant just outside Giove's borgo. It is on the road and thus if you eat outside it may be noisy but the road is never very much busy. The food is great and you fell like eating home. The antipasti are gooood and all frittis are evidently not frozen stuff which makes a huge difference with the other restaurants. Do not miss the cannolo which is expressily made and therefore always crispy and fresh!

“A charming restaurant, friednly owners, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

This is a charming little restaurant in the small town of Giove, Umbria. We have rented a house in this area three times over the past 9 years. We always look forward to eating here and love the charm and simplicity of this restaurant, and most importantly, the food and service is great!

It is a popular restaurant for locals, which is always a good indication of the quality of the food.

The menu is wide and varied, and lots for a vegetarian like me.

The pasta is great, with sauces made with cinghiale (wild boar), for meat eaters, wild porcini mushrooms, simple tomato sauce, and lovely risotti.

The pizzas are sublime, with thin, crisp bases and fresh toppings which are light an not overloaded.

There is amply space inside, but we prefer to sit at an outside table and watch the world go by.
if you are staying in the area or passing through Ristorante Da Piero is well worth a visit.
