“An expensive delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

A short walk from Central Station, Duxiana offers exceptionally clean, modern rooms. We had a largish, open two room apartment for three people, with the third person in a separate, discreet area. Complete with tea/coffee making facilities and microwave, the main room is large though with only one armchair. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and will help overcome any jet lag. Ablutions are good, with plenty of hot water.
Also close to Lilla Torg - a few minutes stroll - with quite a number and range of eating establishments. Even closer to famous Bastad restaurant.
The hotel has parking a couple of blocks away (steep fee). If arriving by car make sure you observe all parking restrictions. We thought we had parked in a parking zone (complete with parking voucher) only to discover we had infringed parking too close to a corner (a cool SEK1000 for our ignorance). Excellent hotel, highly recommended.

Thank you for taking time to write such a nice review of our hotel. We now offer parking in a new very nice underground parking house only approx. 70 meter from the hotel. We hope to see you again soon.

Stayed here on business, very small rooms compensated with comfort and central location walking distance from Malmo Central station. Not sure if the mattress shop or the hotel is the main business. The beds were comfy! Good breakfast otherwise minimal facilities. I'd stay again but the rates were as high as for a room in central London - there is little competition here. Try to visit the old town square, worth visiting for the open air bars and cafes in Summer.

This is my favorite hotel to send both business visitors and friends when visiting Malmö. Great location, comfortable, fabulous beds (Dux, of course), the staff gets customer service (not common here), and decent rate. There is even a nice little nook for sharing a glass of wine or nightcap. My visitors have always been pleased and others who had to book elsewhere jealous.

We feel proud to read such a nice review, thank you! We will make sure we retain our high standard to make sure you and your guests continue to be pleased with our service. Also nice to hear you find what we call Bedtime Bar, a bar that is one of a kind in Malmö.

Ahhh - A Dux bed is what you need for a good nights sleep.
We had the fortune of staying in a 3rd floor junior suite with the bathtub in the bay window. Obviously, the bed was a dream and the in-room bathtub setup worked well.
Weather did not permit use of the 2nd floor patio but I can imagine that it would be nice and cool on a hot summer night.
Had no issue with 'no receptionist after 2300 hours' as we were given the access code upon check-in.
Breakfast was plenty and Scandinavian style with 'make 'em yourself' waffles.
Our only cup of bitterness was that the breakfast area on the ground floor is setup a tad too crammed and really doesn't allow guests sitting at the window to pass the second row of tables without having to ask the other guests to move.
The hotel is indeed very cose to the main train station, restaurants and shopping.

Room Tip: The junior suites have that extra 'je ne sais quoi'

We stayed for one night only so we did not actually spend very much time on the hotel. The hotel is situated very close to the Central Station as well as the old parts of Malmö (Lilla Torg). The rooms could be quite small yes, but they are still very functional and stylish! Beds are really comfortable, DUX quality and design guarantee a good nighht of sleeping. Breakfast was really tasteful!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The hotel is NOT staffed after 11 p.m. and before 5 a.m. during the week (ONLY 10 P.M. ON SUNDAYS) if you arrive after that hour, you will have to go down to the red door on the left hand side of the building, ring the buzzer, talk to the remote security guard who will give you the access code and you will find your hotel key on the little table after you enter. A bit crazy if your flight is late or delayed.

TOUGH DECISION: This property is a 5 min walk from the Malmo train station and convenient to all things in the quaint little downtown. It's Swedish, so hotel prices are mind boogling for what you get.

I booked a single room and that's indeed what I got, despite the fact the hotel was barely full, they put me in the single room (missing an opportunity to wow me a bit). The single room is the size of a prison cell, plain white walls, small single bed, barely enough room to turn around in. The bath was equally small, two tiny towels but well illuminated and plenty of hot water. It was winter and the outer windows were closed, but despite being on the side, you could hear some street noise and one might wonder how loud it would be with summer traffic and a desire to open the window.

A saving grace was a very nice breakfast buffet, along with free and good Internet. The hotel touts the special beds and indeed they are comfortable, however this is not enough to warrant me recommending this property to you.

Having said all of this, the hotel was one of the less expensive options in Malmo. I might have preferred the Elite Hotel which is a bit further walk but on a quieter street. My guess if I return to Malmo I'd likely select another property.

The hotel is fine , the location is good near de train station & the center of Malmoe , the rooms were good ( not spotless there were spiderwebs on the lamps & curtains) , the breakfast was great ( very very good) , but the service was so bad , the front desk lady treated us so bad that was even funny , she failed to give us vital information regarding how to get to the hotel at night ( the hotel is staffless at night and you need a code to get in that we did not received) , she answerd disdainfully to our questions - in case we received any answer-( one day ignored our questions the other day pointed some touristic leaflets) , we were not greeted back when we said hello in the mornings, it was so rude ......

We had a pleasant stay but an hotel of this price and status should take care of these matters
