“Ok but....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

Stayed with my daughter for a weekend. Our first night was ruined by someone knocking at our door several times. Since there is no staff at night we had to call a back up hotel in another city. Not much help was given, we had to call at least three times and in the end had to call the security company ourselves. We did not feel safe at all.
The hotel is close to the center and the rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast is great but alas our stay was destroyed by the intruder knocking at our door.

We recently stayed at the Tornet for 1 week, on a trip to research a potential move to the area. Overall, our room was a good size, with a large closet that we used as a small "bedroom" for our young son, which made him pretty happy.

The small kitchen facility in the room was helpful, and we were able to prepare sandwiches and small dinners easily in with the refrigerator and the little stove. This was also a plus when travelling with a small child. And, since the nearby supermarket is open until 2200, we were able to pick up anything we needed. The small dining table in the bedroom made eating easy as well.

The breakfast buffet was quite good with many options (breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables, yogurts, cereals, fruit, etc.), at least 25 different things to choose from.

Also, since the service to the room is only 1x week, the rate is much lower than a standard hotel. Beware, this is a more long-term type hotel, so there is not staff at the main desk at night; though there is an easy phone connection to another hotel.

It was nice and we plan to be back in the future and send visiting friends and relatives there!

I stayed in this Hotel for nearly 6 months. Its a very nice hotel for long term stay. Hotel staff are really supportive and helpful. There is a beautiful park beside this hotel from this park you can have good view of sea and Helsingor. In room you will get basic cooking equipment. Over all i enjoyed my stay in this Hotel very well.

I stayed one night in this apart/hotel and found it to be exactly as expected from other reviews on this site. It's pretty unappealing on the outside but more than adequate inside. I arrived during office hours so the front desk was staffed. They told me where to get my key and how they operated and it was all quite simple. I asked them if they could order me a taxi for later which they did without any problem. The room was large and comfortable with a small kitchenette, a sitting area and a bedroom - all slightly separate but open plan. The bathroom was huge and functional without being luxurious. There is a large flat screen TV in the sitting area. Breakfast was fine, limited but perfectly adequate. I arrived by train from Copenhagen and based on other reviews took a cab to the hotel from the station but once I had dumped my luggage the walk back down the hill through the park to the centre of town was very pleasant - it is quite a hike back up the hill though! I would certainly return.

i would amen all the positive things in the older reviews. a couple of updates;

there is a breakfast room now where a delicious and great variety of breakfast food is offered. some very nice ladies tend to every detail.

also there is a "lift" if the steps leading from the city center up into the park are too much of a challenge. ( i believe it is closed after 8 pm however) there are places to rest along the way if you choose to take the steps.

the weather was just great except a little warm at night. there are not many air conditioners in helsingborg it seems. windows in the hotel can be opened and mosquitoes were not a problem. the fresh air was wonderful. i would request a room on the park side and above the first floor ( we always felt safe but still...)

the staff were very nice and helpful. we enjoyed our stay very much.

A one-night stay last Friday. Whilst first impressions from the outside, and the common spaces, are not good - feels more like a student hall of residence - our studio apartment was very smart, clean and comfortable. The location is good as well - just a short walk through an attractive park to the lively centre of this very likeable city. And the Accome - at least at the weekend rate - was excellent value as well.

My mum and I stayed here at the end of the year, it had only been opened a month. We were a little nervous on arrival as we had been told it was only a part time reception. We got there (eventually) at 7 in the evening to find that the receptionist knew we were coming so had decided to wait to make sure we got there safely.

I warn you though, the hill up to the hotel is NOT for the faint hearted - its steep! its only around a 5 minute walk from the centre of town which made it peaceful compared to the hotels in the square I have stayed in previously. Even better, there is a wonderful patisserie opposite!

We were shown to our room on the second floor and WOW! We had booked a twin room but little did we know that the apartments were fully self catering. We had our own little kitchen/livingroom/diner, with an open plan bedroom and a bathroom with THE biggest shower ever! It was obviously newly decorated and who ever had done it did a wonderful job!

We were told by the receptioist that unfortunately the breakfast room wasn't ready, no problem we said as we had been told it was room only anyway. In her next breath she asked what time we would be up in the morning so that they could deliver it to our room for us! The breakfast was a cold continental breakfast but it was huge and fresh every day - even the Sunday.

Checkout was simple as we had to leave very (very) early, we had to call their 24 hour reception and advise them our room number and that we were leaving- easy as anything!

I will be staying here again very soon I hope, it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in near Helsingborg centre.

Be careful in a taxi though. We were not sure where it was exactly and I think that the driver knew that - he took us the longest possible way round to the hotel he could find and it ended up costing us quite a lot of cash!

  • Liked — Clean, tidy and friendly and helpful staff
  • Disliked — the hill walk up to it!
