We've been regularly visiting Durban and Umhlanga since 1985 and can now safely say we've found the best restaurant to date in the North of the city. With superb views over the Indian Ocean it's well worth booking a table for an earlier slot so you can watch the sunset.
With an extensive wine and cocktail list you can get off to a great start and if you're operating on foreign currency to the Rand it's easy to "splash out". 17 rand to the £1 does broaden your normal choice !
As a table of seven we all pretty much stuck to grilled Mozambique prawns, langoustines and crayfish. The portions were pretty generous and so add ons (of vegetables, rice etc) don't need to be vigorously ordered! The quality of all our meals were exceptional . The service was attentive and when one portion was recognised as " missing" they quickly remedied the situation.
After starters and mains were consumed desserts were pretty much an indulgence but they hit the spot very well.
So all in all , an excellent fine dining (but nicely casual) experience that we would truly recommend without hesitation.
