A really lovely place to visit. Even if you have seen other "old towns" around Sweden, this one is the biggest and best preserved and Gammelstad Church Town is on the World Heritage List of cultural and natural settings of outstanding value to humanity. It is so beautiful during the summer, you can walk around for more than hour and also take a look inside houses. As far as I remember, until the end of August the Visitor Centre offer guided tours, which are four times per day (not in the afternoon though). It costs 65sek and kinds under 15 go for free, which is a good idea for families! The also have a cafeteria there and a restaurant, so you can eat a proper meal and have some rest.
They have awesome shops with craftsmanship and design, but of course those things are expensive. But so pretty! Small souvenirs are in acceptable prices and really worth buying.
It is definitely worth to see this place if you are in Luleå.
