“Nice view, but average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Very nice view of the canal and surroundings. Waiters were friendly and helpful. Food was good, however nothing special. Judging from the apperance of the restaurant you would expect a near to fantastic meal and that might have set my expectations a bit high. Servings in very small size, even after starter, mains and dessert you felt hungry (at least 4 in our party was).

“Enjoy a pleasant meal here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

After an enjoyable walk in the sunshine along the canal edge it was an

added pleasure to find a table at BACINO the Italian restaurant situated in the CUSTOM HOUSE on Havnegade, situated close to the popular Nyhavn in central Copenhagen.

Unless one is a really serious eater most restaurants to enjoy, depend on the mood they create and the company one is with, BACINO was ideal for a sunny, summery afternoon in amusing and amicable company. A table overlooking the excited holiday water traffic on the canal and a glass of Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir in hand, what more could one wish.

Why is it that whatever I wish to order (Risotto with Asparagus) is on the specials Menu .. and for two … and I have to make do with an alternative choice

Marinated Scampi which proved more than acceptable. The lamb to follow, though not pink, was

well presented, good flavour and more than sufficient, leaving enough room

for a calorie laden Dessert.

The staff were pleasant and helpful and the service was good.

The ambience was great and it was a delight to sit on the waterside and enjoy

a couple of hours of “people watching” while downing an excellent wine. The

interior of the restaurant is very modern Danish style with lots of big glass windows and almost as good as being in Italy. No point in moaning about the prices in Denmark, one should go knowing
that EVERYTHING there is expensive.

“overrated and misunderstood”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

This restaurant is at best a 3 out of 6 star restaurant, the food is mediocre, nothing special, but the prices are pretending to be high end. We had the "tasting" menu, which in my understanding should be a tour round the kitchen with a fair amount of smaller dishes.. This tasting menu was 4 small courses priced at 600DKK ( approx 80 EUR ).
First dish was a lobster with fennel, it was half cold and not very interesting, almost tasted of nothing.
Second Dish was an asparagus risotto with pecorino, but they had not succeded in getting the asparagus taste out in the risotto, it was mostly just salty and the rice was not cooking enough.
Third dish was well cooked lamb, with two sad oven baked potatoes and a slice of chili
Desert was an OK pana cotta, but to be honest very boring in a tasting menu.

Surroundings and the interior is very nice and the look to the harbour must be what you pay for, because it's definately not the food.

You cannot leave this place without a feeling of deceipt, it pretends to be something it is not. You're way better off visting the Bar&Grill section of CustomHouse.

“Not bad, but not good enough...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012 via mobile

We were a business party of 7 people. The waiter started out by telling us, that he recommended we ordered the fixed menu as the a la carte would "take a long time to serve" and he could not ensure that dishes (starter, main, etc.) would arrive at the table at the same time.

This was in my opinion a very unprofessional approach and not worthy of a restaurant in this price bracket.

Food was fine but nothing special. Service was unattentive and I had to ask for water for the table several times, to accompany the wine.

“Wonderful Italian restaurant in Copenhagen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2011

Located in the Custom House building where you can find 3 restaurants and bars, Bacino offers a delicate and refined Italian cooking in an elegant atmosphere. We had wonderful gnocchi with 3 cheese sauce then monk-fish with red onions, Veal raviolis and duck breast, desserts are light and sophisticated. Service is perfect and the bill is okay for suck kind of restaurant. 1300 Krones for 2.
We return tonight to try the japanese restaurant.
