We stayed 4 nights at Copenhagen Island Hotel and found it to be average at best:
*It’s a modern, new hotel but shows much wear and tear already (e.g., luggage marks over much of the hallway wall).
*The room is tiny, barely enough to fit two twin size beds and a desk. Supposedly, the hotel was fully booked so the receptionist could only give us a room towards the back of the building facing the train tracks and a major street. Even though the windows are double-glazed, we could still hear traffic. Bring earplugs.
*There often seemed to be a long wait line at the front desk due to various groups staying there. The receptionists weren’t very attentive and did not appear enthusiastic.
*The shades in the room were poorly designed, not able to keep out the morning sunlight. The shower water temperature also fluctuated.
*The location is a bit far from the city center. 6 minutes walk to the train station and 3 stops to the station closest to the center. Alternatively, we spent 30 minutes walk to the center one day.
The nicest part of our stay was the daily buffet breakfast which not only had large variety but also was served in the restaurant with a view of the harbor. The room itself was quite clean and the air conditioner system functioned well. The hotel is also adjacent to a major shopping mall with supermarket on the ground floor and some fast food restaurants. Overall, it’s an average hotel.
