“Beautiful views, very good location, helpful service. First choice in Copenhagen.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

I have stayed in this hotel more than 50 times so it is rather easy for me to write an objective review. The hotel itself is very nice and has a modern cool design with a lot of glass. The rooms are rather small but nicely furnished. The location is very good, close to the shopping center Fisketorvet and a water tram. Also a DSB train station is within a 5 min. walk from the hotel. The restaurant serves a decent food but probably a bit overpriced what is quite usual for hotel restaurants. The breakfast is good but not perfect as there are no real eggs and there is a limited choice of meat, cheese etc. The fitness and sauna are rather poor compared to other. There are only some jogging machines and free weights which is not enough.

Room Tip: Executive rooms have a balcony with nice view and usually a kettle and tea/coffee set. Apart from th...

We spent the first night of our European tour at this hotel, great! We got an amazing room with a panoramic view overlooking on the bay. The hotel is a bit cold, we saw 2 people in 3 days but it's not a big deal! Service is ok, and the city amazing!
We recommend this hotel!

The Copenhagen Island Hotel is built on the water - I guess the name gives it away. The design is very modern and cool. The location is good as it is near a train station and right next door to a shopping mall (which is very handy). I've checked every hotel I've stayed in recently on Tripadvisor and so far this has worked a treat as I haven't had a bad experience yet.

Arrived late only to find they had given our room to Chinese gentleman who was a bit surprised when we burst in. 2nd room nice, but no kettle and they wanted to move us to another room after 2 nights as ours needed decorating! Very nice helpful staff compensated us with a bottle of wine at dinner that night.

Dear Sir

Thank you for your feedback on your stay with us. I am sorry to hear that you were sent to a wrong room. We just had new tv´s installed in all the rooms and that was the reason for moving you to another room. If you required a kettle in your room, we would gladly have brought you one. I am glad to hear that you were compensated with a bottle of wine.

We hope to welcome you back at Copenhagen Island at your next stay in Copenhagen

By far, the best hotel bed that I have ever slept on. The breakfast was rather expensive but the rest of the stay was fantastic. I really had no complaints. It was by far the best hotel that I stayed in during this trip (between Sweden, France, Spain, and Italy)

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and get the room upgrade. I wish I had.

The rooms were clean and modern but a bit too small. Also, the beds a bit hard and the bedclothes worned-out. Really liked the bathroom and its design. The breakfast was ok but not worth the price, for exempel the coffee was really watery. Overall ok, but not more. The restaurant we never tried except for breakfast. Instead tried the skybar and restaurant at nearby Tivoli hotel & congress.

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for taking your time to review Copenhagen Island. Your comments are important to us to help us improve.

Our rooms measure 20-22m2 and our junior suites 32m2.

We charge DKK 150.00 per person for our breakfast buffet and on our web page you can book packages both including and excluding breakfast.

We are sorry to hear that you did not approve of the coffee. Our waiters would gladly have poured you a new cup.

Our restaurant, The Harbour, is also open for lunch and dinner. We offer an exciting internationally-inspired menu card. Even though you did not have time to visit our restaurant outside breakfast hours, we are glad that you visited the Sky Bar at our sister hotel. Looking forward to seeing you next time you are in Copenhagen.

This is a boutique style hotel but on a larger scale. Good points - clean, quiet, plenty of hot water, disappointing was there is no kettle in the room, no ironing board in the room, breakfast selection is basic for the price and the fitness centre only has one running machine. For me the lack of kettle means I would not go again.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking your time and giving us your feedback on your stay at Copenhagen Island Hotel. We actually do have kettles in our executive rooms.. If you had mentioned to our reception that you would need a kettle in your room, we would gladly have brought it to your room. It is also possible to borrow an iron and ironing board from the reception as weel as you will get that extra service in our executive rooms. Therefore we hope that we will see you again at our hotel.
