Oliver and the Black Circus delivers a complete and exciting dinner experience.
The service and dishes were exceptional.
We visited, a family of 5 and were welcomed warmly by the English speaking server, who put a big effort into making sure we were comfortable, and that we understood the dining concept. He also made sure to let us know that we were free to interject additional courses into the flow of our meal, something we tested out during the course of our meal.
The dining concept is that all the meals are roughly the same size. Which is between a starter and entree. You pay for the amount of courses and there are no extra charges for any dishes. While the card has a traditional starter, entree and dessert construction, you are free to mix as you like. We decided on 3 courses, but after the first dish, we changed our mind and interjected an additional fourth course.
The restaurant had a good ambiance, the decor is exciting and different while feeling roomy and airy.
One of the highlights of the night were the servers, who were friendly and delivered a fantastic presentation of the meals. The best presentations aren't worth anything unless the food backs it up thought, and here it did.
My favorite dish of the night was the Chicken with green asparagus, sweet corn and a cream sauce made with burned hay. I don't normally enjoy chicken, finding it bland, but decided to try it out since the hay sounded interesting. I've never had a more delicious chicken in my life, the sauce was so fulfilling. It's hard to describe, but imagine the satisfaction of bacon, with sourness and sweetness from the rhubarb, with a perfectly moist chicken breast with golden rendered skin.
All the dishes were at this level, and delivered the most completely satisfying dining experience I've ever enjoyed.
