“Perfect location, good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

I stayed in Skt. Petri on my business trip to Copenhagen and i can warmly advice this hotel!
The service was fantastic, with a good restaurant which offers the best continental breakfast!
It will definitely be my first choice on my next trip to Copenhagen!

The good news about this hotel is that the location is great for exploring Copenhagen, and the breakfast spread was plentiful and pretty good.

Er, that's about it, I'm afraid. It's a very large hotel and it feels it. The entrance lobby is cavernous and makes the reception area (curiously under-staffed on my stay) feel more impersonal than the people behind actually are. The room was quiet, but TINY, and frankly a bit worn-out. There is the usual Scandinavian design ethos, but nothing in the room was really made to last. I know that these things are relative and that I had just arrived from another, really good, hotel in another country, but I was expecting a bit better for the price the hotel advertises its rooms for - and also given the vibe the hotel tries to communicate on its web site.

I had a broken desk chair in my room, which to their credit they replaced immediately the following day (though unless it was broken by the previous guest, how on earth did they miss it?). I don't want to be too harsh on the place - it needs some TLC but like everything in Denmark it works and is relaxed. It just isn't going to make you go "wow".

There are many great places to eat near the hotel, ranging from high-end gourmet to rough-and-ready budget, so you are foolish to eat in the hotel (which other reviewers recommend you don't, anyway).

Hotel Skt Petri used to be the best in Copenhagen, but as time went by oitel did not follow up on its strenghts. People at reception are ok, breakfast is still very goog, restaurant is on average but rooms are a kind of gambling! You can have a good room as well as a very bad one. Last time I stayed there (January 2013) I got a very bad room: heating system was not working (outside temperature was - 4) and despite, several complainings to the front desk the problem was never fixed nor a different room was offered. People at the front desk have not been helpful at all, but rather useless in this regards.
Never again.

I am torn between and 3 or a 4 rating for this hotel. It would get a 4 for its location, the friendliness of the staff and the speed and no cost of the internet connection. Where I felt it was only average was the rooms and bathrooms. If there is a shower cannot we not also have a shower curtain? Also, choice of TV channels was very limited. Bed lined was not great. I am tall and like to cover my feet with the duvet but this was not possible. Also, the sound insulation was not great and if the person in the room above me moved about I could certainly hear it.

Great hotel, strongly recommended.
Likes:
- Very friendly staff.
- Good bed.
- Comfy chair in most if not all rooms.
- Choice between a bathroom with a shower and one with a buth tub.
- Good Internet access.
- Close to the Norreport railway station, many affordable restaurants, a supermarket - the lot.
Dislikes:
- Like it or not: towels will be changed each day: what a waste of natural resources.
- Not enough light to read in bed.
- My room, which had a nice terrace, didn't have a window that can be opened for some ventilation.
- Comfy chair isn't that comfy, but looks the part.
- No pool.

Room Tip: If you prefer room with a shower instead of a silly bath tub, ask for it and if they have one, you...

Very nice modern hotel in the center of Copenhagen. Staff at reception is very professional and has made excellent restaurant recommendations. Rooms are modern, clean and with a nice view. The breakfast is very good proposing continental or english one.

The service at First Hotel Skt. Petri was one of the best that we received on our Northern Europe trip. Even though we arrived way too early they took in our luggage without hesitation and provided us with a list of things to do in the surrounding area.

As for the room itself, it was average. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a little small. But other than that it served its purpose.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best that I have ever had and once again the service was excellent. They were very personable and excited to tell you about their city.

The location was great. It was on a tiny quiet street and we were central to everything we wanted to do. I am assuming that school was out over the summer so being adjacent to the college was not an issue at all.

If it wasn't for the winters in Copenhagen...I would live there in a hot second!
