“Always coming back to perfect service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

I have traveled back and forth to Copenhagen for 10 years, and when Skt. Petri opened I had to try something new.
After my first stay I decided to come back.
It was vibrant, had good pulse and the service was perfect.
It´s location with walking distance to almost every were in the City Center made it even better.
And next door they have a wine store with very good service and a loot to choose from.
The room as nice, spacey, and have a clean deign as well as the beds that give you a good night sleep.
Breakfast and the staff are are doing it´s best to make the stay 100% so I just kept staying there.
As of now it´s my second home.
Highly recommended, and worth visiting

Room Tip: The rooms are nice but if you can, upgrade, and if it´s available, take the one with terrace

I agree with other reviews. Good location, good breakfast. Desk service was ok. Rooms are not bad. TV channel selection pretty limited. Had to keep the windows open because room was too hot and stuffy otherwise.

I am an American, world traveler, live in Scandinavia and have spent a lot of time at this hotel.
The good:
- location
- breakfast buffet
- the fitness area
- the sauna
- room service food
- close to public transport
- staff is great and super helpful
- some of the rooms have a really nice view of old town Copenhagen and they are not necessarily the upscale ones so ask for one at check-in
- the Minibar fridge has some really good chocolates and some excellent chips
- the laundry service is outstanding albeit ludicrously expensive (but hey welcome to Scandinavia)
- the Spa...get a massage (of course expect to pay a lot for it)

The bad:
- If you like to shower...don't pick a room without a separate shower otherwise you will flood your room (there are no shower curtains around the bath tubs, oh I hate that!)
- the TV selection is limited to about 10 channels and no movies
- the AC doesn't really work well in any room, it's either too hot or too cold so i just open the windows
- the pillows are sub par

Unfortunately it's overpriced but there are currently really no better choices in downtown Copenhagen. For Copenhageners, this would be considered an upscale and cool hotel. They shoot movies here as the entrance and restaurant areas is quite interesting and often times they have celebrities stay there. For Americans, it's a solid 4 star or equivalent to a nicer newer Sheraton.

Room Tip: get one with a view out to see the churches and towers

If the main thing you are concerned about is a good location and a great breakfast, then this is your hotel. Most staff also tried to be friendly and professional, but just lack experience/training/professionalism which suggest the hotel is not well-managed overall. Keep in mind that normal rates for single rooms are in the $300-400 range and for what you are getting it is horrible value. As a seasoned business traveler, I expect certain minimum requirements to be filled in a hotel with 5-stars. In this case, they were so many annoying details missing that the cumulation of them really prompted me to write this review.

(Some of ?) the rooms are unrenovated, worn out and small. Bed, pillows and linen are identical to a ferry cabin or three-star hotel. Tubshowers lack curtains and bathrooms are small (everything is alwasy wet). Soap is ridiculously small and the cleaning lady doesn't replenish the soap/shampoo at the shower, only at the sink. Front desk frequently forgets requests, internet keeps "throwing you out" (which when on data roaming with 4G can go almost unnoticed switch and can cause a devastating bill) and requires you to log in 10 x a day (and has a different passcode in all hotel locations).

The mini-bar is poorly stocked (and not replenished) and the room has no coffee/tea maker. Cable TV has the key Nordic channels, CNN and an Arabic channel, that's it. It is also the cheapest Philips TV and going from one channel to the next has a 3 sec delay (extremely annoying when flipping through channels). The elevator key access system (from outside the elevator rather than inside as is the standard) is confusing to about 80% of customers and doesn't always work. During a 5-day stay, I have had to return from the 7th floor to the reception three times to re-activate my room key (no ID was asked) which wasn't working.
Finally, the cleaning lady keeps removing my second key (used to activate room electricity) causing my phones and laptops not to charge while I am out of the room. This is highly annoying. I understand the need to be green, but when you see devices charging in the room...use your head.

At these prices there are so many better boutique/business hotels in Copenhagen....with equally great location. Can't recommend staying here unless you get a rate of $250 per night or less.

My husband and I stayed at the First Hotel Skt. Petri for three days prior to joining a cruise ship. On the long journey from New Zealand (involving 32 hours and many flights) my husband left his cancer chemo medication somewhere! The staff at the Skt. Petri hotel were exemplary in their willingness to help us, and to go waaayyyy beyond the call of duty in locating medical help. The shipping agent was brilliant, and the front desk staff allowed us access to computers etc in order to contact the appropriate people at home. Aside from that, and getting back to the main point of a hotel, the whole experience was great - the hotel is nice and centraly locatedl, the restaurant has a vast and fresh breakfast buffet, the decor is edgy and cool. Fantastic Skt. Petri!!

Room Tip: The architecture surrounding the hotel is so interesting - I'm sure ANY room would be good.

Stayed at this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. The location of the hotel was the reason I booked it and I was not disappointed in that aspect. However I was disappointed in the room quality, it was very tired looking showing lots of wear and tear also there was a smell in the bathroom. Replacing the televisions with flat screens would improve the feel of the room as well.
As we were only there for 2 nights and spent most of our time out of the room only really sleeping in the room these problems did not affect us much however I expected better for a hotel of this rating and price. Can't comment on the restaurant or breakfast because we didn't use them but the Cafe Petri's breakfast was delicious pity it was closed on the Sunday. Not sure if I would stay there again but from reading Tripadvisor it seems quite a few city hotels need refreshing.

I've not given excellent as there were a few minor things which lost them some points but I don't think any of them should stop you booking this hotel - especially if, like us, you do not stay in hotels like this very often. If you are someone who expects nothing less than absolute perfection then maybe it is not for you. We loved the location as we were within walking distance of central Copenhagen, and very close to the metro for the airport. As I am 6 months pregnant we spent a fair amount of time napping and watching TV in the room and it was very comfortable. I requested a quiet room, and we heard virtually no noise all weekend.

Have the buffet breakfast at least once - it is lovely! Also there are lots of places to eat locally. We particularly liked Cafe Nytorv, where we had a great authentic Danish evening meal and Cafe Sari where we enjoyed open sandwiches and the herring platter. Cafe Europa was also exceptionally good.

Room Tip: Our room was 466 and was very quiet.
