“Good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Stayed at The Square during August 2012, adding a few personal days of sightseeing in Copenhagen to a business trip in the area. This is definitely a tourist-class hotel, but given that, it's very clean, modern and not too big.

My room was absolutely excellent. I had reserved a single superior room, and was given a double. The decor was very nice, the room was clean, and the bathroom was particularly nice. My room had a view of the Radhusplatsen, which despite the massive construction, was beautiful to look out over. Everything was functional in the room, including the wi-fi which was great.

Coincidentally, I was staying during the Copenhagen Pride festivities, which meant that the square was very loud at night. I had to close the window to sleep, but it certainly made for a fun time out and about! Location was very good - walking distance to practically everywhere, including the train station.

I might try another hotel for a future visit, just for variety, but definitely don't have complaints about this place.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Stayed here for 3 nights in September and were really happy with it. We had a family room as we were travelling with our two small children. The room was fairly spacious and had a queen size bed (or was it king) plus a fold out couch which was already made up. When couch was folded back in during the day the room felt quite big. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean and new. Room wasn't facing the "square" but one of the side streets but the view was still good (no rubbish bins or alleys next to the window). Breakfast was excellent, huge selection. I also thought the staff were quite friendly and professional. I don't think I can fault the hotel at all. The location couldn't be better, very close to Tivoli, Stroget, cafes and restaurants but not too noisy at all. We had a lovely time.

The Square is in a great location in central Copenhagen, within walking distance of Tivoli and The Stroget area. In fact, we walked everywhere from here-the Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace, and places in between. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area. As with all of Scandinavia, prices are high.
Our room was on the second floor and was bright and well lighted. The bed was very comfortable and provided a good night's sleep after a long plane ride overseas. The bathroom was very modern and clean.
There is breakfast available for an additional charge. However, there is a coffee/pastry shop on the corner that was much less and quicker.

The location is central and within easy walking distance of everything (except little mermaid, so if youve been on the biscuits, it might be better to take a cute little boat). The tourism info centre is half way between the train station and the short, flat walk to the hotel. The Square is also just around the corner from the hop on hop off boat and the main street - and (in our opinions) the overrated theme park Tivoli. The room was über small but equally as squeaky clean with great and really comfy beds. Good Internet access in downstairs lobby and great breakfast spread.

Price-quality standing of Copenhagen hotels should place The Square in a very good position. It is centrally located, plenty of rooms available even at the last minute, average prices especially if compared with too expensive city hotels.
Unfortunately my room was very, very small and, altought filled with all kind of quality stuff, it was looking like those Tokyo "layover" hotels where just a bed can fit in.
Wi-fi free connection available all over hotel and in alternative cable connection in every room. Good, european breakfast.
I'll return back if I'm in town, but not to stay more than one night or two....

Convenient location, couple blocks away from Copenhagen train station, Tivoli amusement park and the Town hall area. Hop on,Hop off bus located half a block away. Rooms are small and efficient, no coffee maker in room which really bugs me when you spend that much money, 7-11 store at corner was a plus to get coffee and other things, over all impression was good.

Room Tip: Construction in the area, but didn't seem to be an issue

I have been staying for a week and the location is definitely convenient. The hotel itself is ok, average, and the breakfast is very very good although you are forced to go out a night to dine as there is no restaurant.
My room was facing the main square/road and altho was a bit noisy. Rooms are small but well equipped, but the cleanliness its really rough. The shower's appliances were broken and rusty and it was just dirty (photos attached) Also carpets/curtains were not up to standard.
We moved to the next door Radisson blu Hotel, 5 stars but CHEAPER, much cleaner, amazing service and top quality.
I wouldnt reccomend it for stay longer than a weekend.
