“If you can... climb to the top!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

You will get by far the best view of Copenhagen from atop this massive spiral stairway. It is a workout. Also around the area are many cool cafe's and the Christianhavn area.
You definatly want a picture with this church in the background.

“Best view of the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The walk up was hard because the stairs are steep and there is not a lot of space. We love this though as this is how a real church should be! The view on the top was just worth every step on the stairs!

“Too expensive!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I would have liked to do this trip but when I heard the entrance price I could not believe it!! (approx £12 per person). If they had charged half this price I would have considered it. I do not understand why it was so expensive just to climb some stairs! Very disappointed.

“Really good views, don't forget the church...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

I've now been up this church tower 3 times as I consider it a highlight of the City. You can visit the tower when the church itself is closed, but the church is also really interesting it's best point being the enormous stunning carved wood organ. There are 400 steps up to the top of the tower and they are quite steep, it's not for the faint hearted as they are narrow and when busy, as it often is, there's not must passing room. As you go up there is info on the recent restoration done, and you pass through the belfry with the huge working bells, through all the wooden structure of the tower, which is quite spectacular, and eventually arrive at the first viewing level around the top. You can then continue if you wish right up the spiral external steps to the very top under the golden ball and effigy of Christ. I would not do any of this in the rain or if it was quite windy, I would not feel safe and it would be really unpleasant. On a calm sunny day the views are unrivalled in Copenhagen. You can see the entire city centre with all the other churches and monuments etc. and in the other direction the harbour, and further round right out to Sweden and beyond. It's a really good way to get orientated to the city and to get some great photos.

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

This was so amazing. The beautiful church was so nice to take in while a woman sang hymns in the balcony. We sat in quiet reverence for a while just enjoying the craftsmanship and taking pictures. The climb to the top is exhilarating and a must do!
