“Perfect Location for a City Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Good value budget hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms
Breakfast plentiful with a good vegetarian option.
Loved the Art Deco and modern mix.
Staff friendly and helpful with a special mention to Jette who is exceptional. Deserves 5* and will recommend to friends and family.

Because of flight cancellation we needed to stay 1 night in Copenhagen in savoy hotel and it was a pleasure.
The hotel is very well located and the hole centrum is on walking distance.
Good parking place.
We had the family room and that one was very spacious(no experience with the other rooms)
rooms are very clean and a very nice and comfortable bathroom.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was super good and more than plenty off choices for all.
this is a perfect hotel for a long weekend in Copenhagen family or couples.

Savoy hotel is situated a 10-minute-walk from Tivoli, the Railway station and Rådhuspladsen.

Rooms are clean and equipped with a safe, luggage-rack, desk, kettle, flatscreen TV and last but not least a very comfortable bed. Just remember to bring earplugs as the walls seems to be very thin.

Only minus is that the shower floor is missing a divider which makes the entire bathroom wet when taking a shower.

Breakfast is served in the basement with lots to chose from. Friendly staff!

We were able to park our car free of charge round the corner, and the location was convenient for Copenhagen sightseeing. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. While not being memorable, the hotel was a sound choice at a sensible cost for a brief tourist visit to the city.

This hotel was very easy to find - a simple 10 min walk from the train station. Hennen on reception was completely charming and couldn't have been more helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and every thing was very Danish - spotlessly clean, stylish and in top working order! Breakfast was a delight - the bread was gorgeous and still warm from the oven.
There is a good quality Indian restaurant just up the road (back towards the station) on the opposite side that does a delicious eat what you want buffet for just 99DKK and charged me half that for my 6 year old (the water however was 2.50DKK for a small bottle - standard price here I know but if you're economising worth knowing). Next door to this restaurant was another buffet type Danish place with similar prices so you don't need to spend a fortune if you need a convenient evening meal a short distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room - I certainly got one! Think it was 111 - the last room on the first floor...

We stayed at the Savoy a week ago and were very disappointed. There was only one person working the front desk and no one to take our bags to the room. The room was so small that we couldn't open the bathroom door without hitting the bed. The bathroom door had to be closed in order to open the room door. They advertise a free breakfast but don't say that it's a continental breakfast- cold cereal and danish. The "restaurant" is not handicap accessible. If you ask to store your luggage before or after checkin/out, you're given a key to a storage room. Everyone requesting it gets the same key and access to that room so there is no security for your bags.

Dear NCSTraveller,

Thank you for taking time to write a review on Tripadvisor even though it is not a happy one.

I am sorry that we were not able to fulfill your expectations.
Regarding you claims I have tried to answer them here.

We have never had a porter at the hotel, to bring luggage to the room.

Yes we do have small rooms. But for those guests who wishes a larger room, we have 5 types of rooms in 5 different sizes.

Our breakfast is complimentary, and consists among others of freshly baked bread, (up to 8 different sorts), yoghurt, cheese and cold cuts, 3 types of marmelade, honey, fresh fruit and Danish pastry. Tea/coffee and Apple-/Orange juice as well as cold water is also available. And least but not last you an enjoy a "Gammel Dansk" free of charge to your breakfast.

Our hotel is more than 105 years old and we are, I agree, not handicap friendly. However should you need help to get to the breakfast in the lower level, you just ask in the reception and a staff member will take you there via the staff lift.

We have a public storage room, free of charge, and we have personal lockers that will cost you 10,00 DKK.

Kind regards,

Christian Oxlund
