“Excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

I stayed at the Plaza in CPH for two nights, and my main purpose for the visit was business.

As I flew in and out of Kastrup airport, I was looking for a hotel close to the Central Station (Hovedbanegaarden), as this would enable me to take the train both to and from the airport.

This connection is very quick, and very cheap (some €5 each way).

Also, the hotel is situated right next to Tivoli and Ströget, which is the main shopping área of CPH.

The hotel is rather old, and of course the rooms cannot be expected to be modern. However, the bathroom was decently modern, and the rooms were OK for a couple of nights.

I did not try the breakfast, but the dinner in the restaurant was very good. I would recommend the meat, which was very well prepared.

Also, the library bar was very cozy and with a lot of carácter. Nice place for a relaxing momento at the end of a buzy day.

If I were to put my finger on something, it would be the bad coverage of the wifi. It was free, but did not have sufficient reach and bandwith to be useful. A the fifth floor I could hardly log into the network, and it was imposible to surf on the net. It could hardly enable me to download e-mails.

Also, being located right next to the railway lines coming into the central station, and being close to buzy roads, has its consequences in terms of noise. But that cannot be remedied if you want this location.

I would stay there again if I were to go to CPH for business or for a quick stay with all my appointments in the centre. However, it is not a hotel I would choose for a longer stay, where you would wish for more amenities and confort.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise for a good night's sleep, ask for rooms facing away from the railw...

This hotel was great for our stop and tour of Copenhagen. The property is right next to Tivoli Gardens and the main train station. This was extremely helpful when we were departing to head to Germany for the next portion of our tour. The breakfast was great and the room was clean and spacious. They allowed us to leave our luggage with them since we arrived early. This allowed us to walk to a nearby planetarium while we waited for the room to be available. The décor is quite fancy and appealing. We were able to walk to all the locations we wanted to see from the hotel without any issue. Copenhagen Plaza is a nice hotel that is centrally located for any traveler. I would stay here again.

We stayed two nights at the Copenhagen Plaza and we had reserved a room with a view over Tivoli Gardens. Yes, the hotel is old-fashioned, but I think it's a bit of the charm of this hotel. Our room was spacious and I liked the classic theme of the room. I do believe, however, that the hotel needs to clean the windows outside. If they don't, soon you won't be able to look outside! The room itself were clean and comfortable. No complaints. The breakfast was OK. If you want to stay at a nice hotel with an excellent location, I can recommend the Copenhagen Plaza. I have to mention though, it is a little expensive.. All in all, I would stay here again :)

Arrived at this hotel to find out that we had already been overcharged for our stay!
The room was uncomfortable due to the side beams being too low (you have to put up with this if you want to avoid the traffic noise on lower floors)! The shower too was uncomfortable due to this same problem, however in addition to this it didn't drain well as you showered... The bed cover was two single cover side by side (a double bed without a full size double duvet) made sleeping covered quite a challenge! Location was the only positive for this hotel. Expresso coffee at breakfast would have been nice!

Room Tip: Avoid bottom floor due to traffic noise, and also the very top floor as the roof is slanted and you...

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of January. Room was the superior room (a bit overpriced) The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and very clean in general but the shower was letting it down -needs a bit of TLC (silicon is dated and shower head defective).
Breakfast was good and had a nice variety.
Guys at reception very helpful -they even kept our luggage there until the time we needed to go to airport.
City centre can be walked easily. Food in town Very Expensive to UK standards.
Bought a small toothpaste in 7 eleven text door to hotel for £3.20! What a rip off!!!

Stayed there in January, flying from Moscow with my husband, and loved the view of the historical train station and the Tivoli park from our balcony (two, as a matter of fact!). Would definitely recommend for its perfect location, great breakfast (food selection!), cocktails in the bar, perfectly clean rooms and friendly staff. One can tell that the structure management is behind keeping an eye on every detail. Special thanks to the General Manager Allan Mulis for making our stay memorable!

The hotel is located in the middle of everything: the Central Station and the Tivoli Gardens are right across the street and yet you hardly hear the voices from the hotel room. It's very convenient to take the train from the airport directly to the hotel (2 minutes walk from the station).

The breakfast is adequate and served at 6:30-10:30 during the weekdays and at 7:30-11:30 during the weekends and holidays - very thoughtful arrangements.

The room we had (606) has good size with a view to the Tivoli Gardens but relatively old facilities. The washbasin in the bathroom was stopped up during our 3-night stay although we informed both the front desk and the housekeeping service. Hope they fixed it now.

Surprisingly, a blackout took place on the New Year's Eve - some sort of New Year's gifts? It of course also brought down the WiFi and the cable TV. Actually, we didn't quite need an excuse to go out to celebrate the New Year's Eve and Tivoli Gardens were having their last night in 2013 with fastinating lighting and fireworks. The hotel staff worked very hard to fix the power problem within 1-2 hours during this special holiday.

Room Tip: If you are tall, don't take rooms on the rooftop floor (6th floor). The pillars will trouble you...
