“Great building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

It's a beautiful building inside and out with lots of original features. Location is also brilliant.

Service is friendly, the bar area buzzing. Room isn't bad, you can her a good night's sleep. Room decor a little dated but not enough to cause concern.

Its location is ideal, since it is 10 min away from most places worth visiting, close to business places, restaurants and shops, as well.
The hotel building itself (old harbour warehouses) is very interesting.
The room I stayed in was big enough with two beds and a small "living room".
It has free WiFi - good performance.
There are guest PCs to be used for free including printing.
Breakfast buffet is very rich (though rather expensive and not included in the room price).
The staff constantly checks the room for cleanliness and replenishes items for guest use.
The SALT restaurant is rather good (though a bit pricey).
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Room is too hot and duvet too warm, bed is comfy though.
Be careful with checking the bill at checkout, I had a couple of mistakes overcharging me.
Overall it is rather expensive, however Copenhagen is in general.

Easy access to the main sights and shopping area. Had a good room but hoped to get a harbour view (this would have required an expensive upgrade). One noisy night out of 3 due to drunken guests returning at 3am. Avoided breakfast as too expensive. Hotel needs a gym.

Very good Hotel stayed for 2 days mid week. Good location for a short break, City centre 10 – 15 mins walk away, aprox 20 mins in a taxi from the airport. Also very close to Nyhaven – plenty of restaurants / bars also start point for tour boats - and the Royal Palace is just around the corner. – well worth a visit. Reception warm and welcoming, rooms good clean and warm maybe a bit small but they have character and this is a conversion of an historic building so allowances have to be made for that. Very good bar with an above average selection of beers for a hotel bar and helpful advise on these from the bar staff. Breakfast very good plenty of variety , lots of cereals breads cheeses etc. Did not get a chance to try the restaurant in the evening, but will next time. Check out seamless . This Hotel has a warm and friendly welcome and is good value for money and I would highly recommend it for either a short break in Copenhagen or business.

First visit to Copenhagen and wanted an hotel near but not in the centre of the city. Admiral is situated by the harbour but approx 10-15 mins walk from the centre depending on how quickly you walk. It is also very convenient for Nyhaven - Hans Christian Anderson house and also one of the 'restaurant' areas
We were on a 3 day break and ate here on each of the 3 nights at different establishments - 4 minutes from the hotel. Nyhaven is also one of the bases for the canal tour which operates throughout the year and worth the 70DK. It takes approx 70 minutes. The Admiral is next to the new Royal Theatre and on the opposite side of the harbour is the new opera house - boats frequently run between the two.The Admiral hotel is converted from a grain store and throughout the hotel you can see the huge wooden beams that are a feature of the hotel. They are also in most of the bedrooms as well. Copenhagen's most famous tourist attraction (other than the Tivoli gardens) the Little Mermaid is a 15 minute walk from the hotel and when you get there you will see the reason why she is called little. We stayed from the 3- 6 Jan and the price paid for the rooms in my opinion was to be expected for a city break. I had booked standard rooms but were upgraded to the harbour view rooms at no extra cost. Therefore I cannot comment on the 'street facing rooms'.

Room Tip: harbour view rooms are worth

The hotel starts with a walled tree-lined car park-courtyard which I liked. The large lobby with high ceilings has tasteful nautical decor. The bar is comfortable and spacious as well. The staff were bright and quick. My room was large and had a sliding glass door with a mini balcony that permitted fresh air and the ability to pop my head out and have a look around. The room was on the east side of the hotel and had a view of the harbor. I thought the bathroom in my room, while large, was not current and not consistent with the rest of the hotel which was obviously current. The restaurant in the hotel, Salt, was indeed a world class dining experience from the waiter to the food and wine. My stay lasted several days and I liked that the hotel was large enough to not be boring.

Room Tip: I prefer a view of the harbor and that is to the east. The sunrise and breeze are welcome when in a...

This hotel was located in town, but certainly not worth the money we paid per night in mid December! It was cleaned every day but in my opinion it was not a thorough job! We paid over $200. US a night plus a $20. International fee. This was the middle of December last month 2012, breakfast was over $30. EACH. Most european hotels are not rated like the hotels in USA. The ratings are in no way even similar to what you would get in USA! In US you get a pretty nice hotel room for $240 per night. In this Copenhagen Admiral it was an average room I would say two star at the most.

Room Tip: If I had to do this over, I would go elsewhere, this is too much money to pay for average to poor qu...
