“Excellent sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

The Marriott in Copenhagen is pretty much everything you expect from a those hotels which I call "corporate hotels". They have no charm whatsoever, are located not too far from the city centre and usually offer a great view over the city or some landmark and offer good services.

I stayed there two days this week-end in a seaview bedrom and while the rooms look a bit outdated they are quite large compared to european standard and provide an excellent isolation.
I'm the kind of person who can wake in the middle of the night for any given noise and i have to say that I slept like a baby there. Not one noise from anything, the bed was a king bed and the sheets were absolutely excellent and there was a more than good enough amount of pillows.

Overall, the stay in itself was really good except some minors that I don't understand like no free wifi (seriously? Even buses in Copenhagen offer free wifi!) or the really low pressure shower that does nothing to wake you up energically.

To sum it up:
Pros:
- The rooms are large
- The bed is excellent
- You can't hear a noise
- Seaview is awesome (for those who like nothing but sky and emptiness that is)
- Good connectivity in the bedrooms and enough space to give a presentation to a small staff
- Mini shop opened 24/7
- Efficient staff
- Good location...

Cons:
- ...but not the best
- No free wifi. Given the price range of the hotel and the fact that in 2014 you get free wifi almost anywhere, that's hard to swallow.
- Decoration a tad outdated (especially the floors)
- The staff, while efficient is not the nicest. A smile is always a good way to make customers like you.

City of Copenhagen (CPH) being one of my favorite spots in Europe, this is definitively a must do for business or Leisure purposes. Nice and big rooms, very clean and excellent service and well located close to downtown. Amazing view and very large breakfast capabilities.

Got my room at 12:00 (which was 4 hours before the normal checkin time) which was very convenient. Staff was informative and friendly.

Stayed at the Executive Floor with access to the Lounge. The Lounge manager was kind and attentive. The choice of food and beverages is a bit limited at the Lounge but still a nice place to relax with a great view of Amager.

The room was slightly bigger than expected. Bed was good as always at Marriott. The curtains make the room really dark. It is possible to open the window although its a rather small section of the window. Bathroom was great but the shower was a bit on the small side.

Breakfast buffet was good - there is a choice of freshly prepared eggs or omelettes. For the rest its very standard selection of cereal, bread, cold-cuts (better than normal hotels) and pastries Staff at the restaurant was not particularly helpful or friendly.

I was on a 4 day conference in this hotel. When you go to Marriott, your expectations can be at a high level, and I was not disappointed : spacious room, good service (there was a problem with my reservation upon arrival but that was solved within minutes), good breakfast, decent food at lunch and dinner,...

I booked this hotel for a treat for my husband's 50th birthday and was a little concerned by the mixed reviews. I shouldn't have been. The check in experience was smooth and very friendly. The gentleman who checked us in (Rob) was extremely pleasant with just the right amount of chat to make us feel relaxed and very welcome.

The hotel was very busy because of all the participants of the Winter Trial car rally staying there but they coped very well with breakfast in spite of that. On our third morning the restaurant felt very empty without all the car enthusiasts!

The room seemed to have been recently renovated and was lovely - classy and spacious. The airconditioning worked very well and the bed was very comfortable as were the foam pillows I requested.

We were delighted with the whole stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone for either business or pleasure. Only negative is paying for internet access in your room when it is free for people who walk into the lobby but this is a hotel group policy and I think is one which many large chains seem to adopt.

Room Tip: we had a 7th floor room with a view of the water and it had been very recently decorated so was brig...

The Copenhagen Marriott is a good hotel in a good location. If you can get a room with a view of the water, it's even better. Walking distance to most of what you'd want to see in CPH. Seems to be a hotel that many cruise ships use, so check-in and check-out have always been really busy as is the lobby area when those groups congregate. One comment about room service; First time there I ordered the small breakfast and it was the biggest breakfast I may have ever had put before me. Might suggest to go ala carte instead. A nice touch is that they provide maps of several running routes from the hotel (they are on a table in the center of the lobby). A morning run along the water towards the center of the city is a great start to the day.

The room was big and bright, with a king sized bed, there was still more than enough space for single bed for my daughter. however, the staff were rather cold, though polite. I had expected warm smiles and enquiries on how we were enjoying ourselves, whether we needed any help... This is considering we paid full cost for the room, for 9 nights. I suppose only Marriott members get special trestment. We wanted to borrow a can opener one night, and was told housekeeping could not lend us one!

Room Tip: Obviously it helps if you are a Mariott member,or return guest, judging from the favourable reviews...
