“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

This is very nice hotel with superb staff! The staff were knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. Our room had plenty of room for four people and was very clean. The location is very close to tivoli gardens and the glyptotek.

This is a standard Marriott, very nice rooms and lobby. Very friendly staff, great views of the water and close to many attractions. It's a great hotel my only problem with it is that it's just like any Marriott you'll find in the States. Nothing really Danish about it, so if you're looking for something Danish, with Danish design try elsewhere. If you're looking for a nice hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms but kind of typical Marriott design the hotel is perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a water view

Had a junior suite reserved for over 6 months but when I arrived we were told that there were none available and there was no chance for our one night stay, however the gentleman at reception gave us several amenities including free Internet and breakfast and was most apologetic , an definite attempt to please. Although disappointed I feel every effort was made in the situation to appease. That being said the regular room with harbor view was ample and clean the bed comfortable and the access to the executive lounge very nice with nice evening drinks and breakfast .

Many reviewers were right about that the front desk and concierge no eager to help their guests. They have no smiles when they talk to people, except when they joke with each others. I had to say the hotel is managed poorly. I believe only business travelers are coming back since company required. The hotel looks modern in the lobby, and rooms are very basic. No make up mirror At the bathroom, no clock in the room, except on TV. All lightings are very basic. You will not feel in five star hotel. Unlike some guest, I think executive lounge is reasonable. They tried to change items every day for afternoon cookies and dinner items.

The hotel is not very centralized, need 20 minutes walk at least for average vacation folks.
One bright spot, if you book the tour through hotel, you will get pick up at the front door, but no
drop off.

The food is below average. Very few people have dinner there.

One more, the wall is paper thin. You can hear and feel the elevator moving from two rooms
away. Try to stay far away from elevator. We did not expect much before got there, so we tried to
Ignore all the negatives.

The head concierge treated us like we were an imposition, cutting us off sending us away and no smile there. The restaurant served overpriced flavorless food-awful actually. The front desk manager sold us an upgrade package for use of the internet, unlimited mini bar and use of the business lounge. The internet worked. They would not refill the mini bar daily at room cleaning we had to ask every time.(and of course wait for that) The "executive" lounge was staffed by one very overworked lady who did her best but was overwhelmed. The food was the same low quality boring menu day after day. At evening, there was nothing but cheap beer, cheap wine, peanuts and stale cookies. Our "upgraded" room had a nice view but also had a clogged sink that was never fixed even though I asked twice. We had to ask for shampoo, towels, toilet paper and for the trash to be removed!

Room Tip: They are after every penny they can get but forget about hospitality.

It meets the standards of marriott hotel, but the location is not convenient for tourists. No restaurants near by. But if you have your marriott points and want to use it you can stay here. Front office not very efficient and it takes a long time to check in and check out. The breakfast was fine.

This is a good example of the Marriott brand. Mostly American guests, the hotel is clean and well serviced. There are minor annoyances, such as Internet charges, as there are at too many hotels nowadays, but overall this is a pleasant, if busy, US hotel set in a good location in a wonderful city. If you arrive at about 2.00pm it may take some time to check in, although you probably will be surrounded by attractive Emirate Airline stewardesses. I would stay here again
