Upon arrival we were well greeted by a girl at the reception. The first impression of the hotel was good.

We had booked 3 nights to celebrate my birthday and were looking forward to a relaxing weekend in beautiful Copenhagen.

When arriving in the room we realized we were on the bottom floor of some inner yard with the view of a major construction sight. The windows were dirty and there were no excuse letter on the bed for any inconvenience. The room overall was ok, lamp in the ceiling did not work.

Then the circus started.

I went for a quick shower and started to look for the soap when I was in the shower. They work with soap dispensers which is great and environmentally friendly. But, it had fallen down from the wall (fitted with pads) and was not cleaned for the last maybe 3-4 weeks. Strong lime deposit on it.

Then I saw the bathtub, the shower wall (glass) all covered in stains and it had not been cleaned for the last couple of weeks. On the backside of the make-up mirror (which u see from the shower) there were finger prints from at least 10 guests. Finished my shower and went for the major test - the drinking glass in the bathroom. Yuack. Old toothpaste in the bottom and finger prints all over it. There were dust on things in the bathroom and I got the feeling we were checked in at a building sight with no housekeeping. But no, this hotel is a 4 Star hotel and is even a part of a Summit Resorts cooperation - which from its logo at least breaths luxury.

I asked the girl at the reception to assist us at least with a cleaning of the room. She asked straight away if we wanted to change room but were to hungry to start changing room etc that evening so asked if we could do it just after breakfast the day after.
No worries at all was the answer.

The morning after we enjoyed breakfast in a room with maybe 60-70 People, all good besides that the girl working in the service was ALONE???? Felt so bad for her, she was stressed out and would not have been surprised if she would have got an heart attack. It would have needed 4-5 Staff members to serve all those guests and live up to the 4 star service that is expected. The girl was although VERY friendly and did the best she could of the situation. Maybe time to recruit one more or 2?

Changed room and went to check it out.. the drinking glasses and glass-shower-walls told us that the room was in the same condition and we were are this point not impressed. Asked for another room and got a room on the 5th floor. "This room is newly renovated and there will be no problems here". I went up alone and realized that we got one of the hotels major suites, great room - large bed, sofa, 2 bathrooms and beautiful view of the roof tops. You all now think - what is he complaining about - he got a free room upgrade. Well... the glasses had not been cleaned, same with make up mirror, dust on the floors/ floor skirting, the bed had black hair on the sheets and the worse part was the heat. The room had around 30 degrees when we arrived. We turn down the heating but nothing happened. THe room stayed that temperature and we slept with the window open (This is beginning march ok?). Madness.

+ This hotel is nicely renovated, the rooms looks stunning.
+ Location is great

- No Housekeeping that works. Dirty everywhere
- No 4 Star hotel service. www.hotrec.eu
- Strange that a hotel that is part of Scandic which is a large hotel chain has not got a manager in place on weekends as well as a working housekeeping quality program. Never had such a un-clean experience in a hotel.

I cannot recommend this hotel... First Hotel Twentyseven is located around the corner and has got higher standard.

Room tip: 501 is a great but hot suite.

It didn't start well. I booked for 11 people and I couldn't do that online which is a miss. I had to book in groups of 4+4+3.
Then we wanted to have lunch at the hotel before heading out but despite my efforts to reach the hotel, via mail and phone, I couldn't get any answers. In desperation I turned to the hote manager and she saw to it that we within an hour had a reservation and after that it was much easier to talk to the hotel. But it shouldn't be like that since their job is service with a big S.
Anyway I got back because we also needed a conference room and it was booked within minutes which was very good! I also told them that the cost should be paid at check-out.
Sadly enough there was some trouble with the equipment in the conference room so about 1 hour went by without us being able to work at all.
Two weeks after I received an invoice for the conference room without any deduction! I think this is very strange and also not up the right service level. They didn't charge as agreed and when they finally sent an invoice is was for the full amount. If I had run the hotel I would for sure, at least, decucted the coffee of something to show good-will.
Apart from all the fuss the rooms were excellent, big and luxurious. The place where the hotel is situated can't be faulted. Excellent in the middle of town on the Rådhusplads and close both to Tivoli and Ströget.

We had a great experience at the Scandic Palace. Our room was very, very large and included a sofa and sitting area. We did not have a view of anything special, but that was not an issue as we were out exploring the whole time. The breakfast in the morning which was included was excellent and we felt rather authentic. Staff were very helpful and supplied us with a space heater when we were having trouble with the heating and also additional duvets as it was very cold that weekend. The hotel itself was very clean, nicely appointed, and the standard continued throughout the hotel. We also appreciated the efforts that had gone into retaining the historical import of the hotel itself.

It was located an easy 10 minute walk from the Metro and at the bottom of the Stroget and a short walk to the National Museum.

We booked two rooms here for the weekend and found the hotel to be excellent. It is in a really good location, the staff are more than helpful & went the extra mile and helped make it a pleasurable stay. The rooms were very nice with everything you would need and were kept clean.

Location can't be beat. Right beside shopping and steps from Tivoli. Rooms were standard, but very small. No doorman or bellman to assist with luggage. Always only 1or 2 desk staff at desk, and that is all the staff you'll see. Front desk staff also acts as concierge, as well as baggage storage staff, and engineer if you have a problem in your room. Looooonnng drag of luggage through hallways to get to room. Tiny sink, the size of a medium salad bowl, and zero bathroom counter space. Will definitely look for another hotel in same area for next visit.
