“Scandic should think on renovating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Last week I had a business trip to Copenhagen. Traditionally I picked up a Scandic hotel. This time it was Scandic Webers. It looks like Scandic. It smells like Scandic. It even smiles like Scandic. The stuff is friendly. Reciption is very kind. The variety of breakfast dishes is wide enough. I only missed my favorite kottbullar (meatballs) and sausages. But the rooms are too old! The wallpapers in the room came unstuck somewhere. The room furniture is actually older than me. In the center of Copenhagen!

Hi Josemitry
Thank you very much for your review. We are glad to hear, you had a good experience at our hotel and we thank you for all the kind words.
We are renovating several of our rooms to freshen up the look and meet the expectations of our rooms. We have kept our fifth floor the original way to keep some of the classic rooms, which many of our guests enjoy.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a restaurant at our hotel. We choose to have a stylish bar that serves refreshing drinks, wine and beer from all over the world. We know it is not kottbullar, but try one next time you come to stay – we promise you’ll enjoy it!
Best Regards,
Marlene Frez

We spent two nights at Scandic Webers last weekend. The journey from the airport took only 15 minutes and the hotel was only a two minute walk if you come out of the main entrance a the train station and turn left. The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. Our room was on the third floor and clean and comfortable. Our friends were on the ground floor and their room was much smaller but it was clean and tidy and we didn't plan on spending much time in the rooms anyway! The breakfast was really good, plenty of choices and topped up regularly. The location of the hotel was fantastic. It was only a 5 minute walk to Tivoli Gardens and another 5 into the city centre and shops. Lots of buses run regularly to take you further afield. We bought a Copenhagen pass when we arrived at the airport and we used this to go on trains and buses as well as using it to visit castles and palaces and the Tivoli. It was £62 for a 72 hour pass and it was worth it - no fumbling around with change and instant access wherever we went. Copenhagen is a fantastic city to visit and I would recommend Scandic Webers as value for money and ideally situated for a short stay.

Location was nice in the centre, breakfast good quality, no queques. Rooms are regular size, cosy and nice. We rent bicycles from hotel, the staff was very nice and everything was just perfect for a weekend trip. No complains at all.

Very small rooms (closet size)
Bathroom even smaller (shoe box size - not worth the name bathroom). Shower with low water pressure.

Breakfast can be nice but with high occupation insufficient space to seat everybody and poor food replenishment. Even earlier in the morning.

All in all good location but hotel should improve massively. Price/quality balance is gone at this stage.

Hi Jeroen_77
Thank you very much for your review. We are of course sad to hear that your stay at our hotel didn’t meet your expectations.
Our rooms differ in size and shapes and we are sorry that you felt like the room was too small. Try our Superior rooms next time you come to visit – they are larger and more spacious. You are always welcome to come to the reception and ask for a new room and we can change you to a new room, if we have any free in our system – We will do whatever we can to help you during your stay.
It is important to us to give our guests a good and healthy breakfast everyday. When we have many guests at our hotel, the breakfast area can seem crowded at times. We recommend our guests to have their breakfast early in the morning, if they wish to have a quieter environment. No matter what, there will always be room in the breakfast area for our guests.
We hope you will consider Scandic Webers as your hotel, if you should come back to Copenhagen. We want to show you that our hotel can meet your expectations.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to write me an e-mail or give me a call.
Best regards,
Marlene Frez

This hotel is in a great location, near the central train station (very easy to travel from / to the airport) and the centre of town. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an extensive buffet that was well-organized. The room we stayed in was small and a little basic but fine for our needs. There was hot water in the sink but the water in the shower was somewhere between warm and hot. The hallways were a bit rundown but you're not going to spend much time in them anyway. All in all, this is a very good choice in a city that's quite expensive if you're not looking for luxury but want somewhere comfortable.

Copenhagen overall is crazy expensive and can be a bit overwhelming when trying to find somewhere decent to stay. Scandic Webers ticked all the boxes for me. It was close to the main train station so arriving jet lagged on the airport train was a conveniently short walk. The rooms were spacious (top floor), clean and the bathroom had a decent shower and a bath tub. There just wasn't enough bench space in the bathroom for two girls travelling together which was a bit annoying. Our room overlooked the side street with views to Tivoli and depending on wind, noise did travel, particularly into the early hours on the weekend, but you have to expect that for such a central location.

Breakfast was brilliant - wide selection of cereals, cold cuts, breads, cheeses, whole fruits, and of course pastries. We decided to take our time and not rush breakfast which was lovely. The breakfast room did get busy but people always seemed able to find a table to sit at. Free Wi-Fi was a nice touch and it worked even up in our room.

I had also become a member of the Scandic chain which gave us 50DKK per day to spend in their little shop off the foyer which meant bottled water for free to start our day with - also a nice touch. If in Copenhagen again I would have no hesitation staying here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor might reduce the street noise

Two minutes from central station on a main road with lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

Very basic rooms but on the whole clean. Miniscule wardrobe (3 items max !) no safety deposit box (possibly not the case in the highest priced rooms) & a shower cubicle which your knees knocked into when sitting on the toilet - so you could say a rather small bathroom ! Tiny, paper thin towels but the most comfortable beds so a good sleep guaranteed.

Breakfast is included in all rooms (you can just walk in off the street & help yourself as staff were non existent), consequently it was adequate but not fantastic but all very clean and plenty of it.

Reception were very helpful and I would stay here again due to value for money and location alone.

The train from the airport runs every 8 minutes & you are at central station for 36 krone within 12 minutes. Consequently I think you would struggle to find a better option in a city which is lovely, but more expensive than any other I've visited to date.

Hi Lynsey13

Thank you for your review and your stay at Webers.
We have safety deposit boxes in every room except on the fifth floor. If there, for some reason, isn’t a safety deposit box in your room, we have one in the reception, which can be used for free.
We know that Copenhagen is an expensive city, but fortunately, we know some great places with reasonable prices. So our guests are always welcome to come to the reception and get good advices to find good places, which are not too expensive.
We hope to see you again here at Scandic Webers.

Best regards,
Marlene Frez
