“Hotel good, location great but ikea rooms...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Hi, I have just returned from a short break to Copenhagen which was excellent and stayed at the First Hotel Twenty Seven. On a positive note the Hotel is 5/10 minutes from all the key landmarks, looks great and generally is of a high standard but the rooms are very basic. As this is my first trip I am unsure if this is the norm but it felt like an Ikea showroom. Which was strange as bar/lobby/resturants really high standard.

General thoughts on Copenhagen, great city. Get a 90 kroner travel pass that gets you around the city on all forms of transport. Ice bar next to the Hotel is a blast, and well worth the money. Tivoli gardens, worth doing although I would not go back.

Yes it is expensive but just disengage your wallet/purse for a couple of days and enjoy.

we looked for a long time for hotels in copenhagen... a lot seemed over priced and we weren't sure what to do... we were really happy with our choice to stay at hotel 27. our room was basic but had everything we needed - comfy twin size beds... nice bathroom... clean wood floors. the staff at the front desk were really helpful as we arrived on easter and they secured us a great reservation at a local restaurant. would certainly stay here again.

Rooms are very small but wifi works well and the location is very good. The bar is lively and the inclusive dinner is a good idea for those who want to grab a quick bite before heading out on the town. The luggage storage situation (as commented on by others previously) does seem quite odd but this a good value hotel for a short trip.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on a high floor facing the back of the hotel.

I didn't have high hopes having read the recent reviews - but this hotel was fab! Stayed 1 night 14 Nov 2012. Well-located close to Tivoli, the pedestrianised streets wth bars, restaurants and shops, and next to a church (NB. with ringing bells in the evening - but not all night!).

The room was clean and fairly spacious with a sofa on one end plus an armchair with coffee table, very comfy bed (including mattress topper) with lots of pillows, and separate shower with toilet and hairdryer. Two large radiators in the room mean you can control the temperature without artificial air blowing at you. The only fault I could possibly find, is the shower water didn't get as hot as I like it.

The hotel had some nice touches, like complimentary slippers. The breakfast was really good - wish I'd had more time! Very clean, fresh and of high quality. Be warned that the check-out queues are quite lengthy around 8am, so factor this into your breakfast time - as you really want to make the most of it. Not only was there a good selection in terms of cooked vs. breads and pastries vs. cereal and yoghurt, there was also juice, fruit and a coffee machine. Wish I'd had time for seconds!

Staff were always friendly and helpful, and I encountered quite a few so am surprised to read the other comments. I'd definitely go back. This hotel also houses the Ice Bar.

I stayed there on 12-14 November. My overriding impression of the hotel is that it is perfectly serviceable and fairly clean, however customer service is second rate. The kitchens shut at 9pm and there was no other way to obtain food at that time. The front desk staff were more interested in their own conversations and friendships than making hotel guests welcome and I certainly felt like an intruder whenever asking for assistance. The bar staff were friendly enough but, yet again, needed to be prised from their conversations with friends to get any service. Breakfast next morning was OK but, true to form, I had to wait 5 minutes before anyone could be bothered to check on the reception area and check me in. The last day I gave up and walked in. Noone batted an eyelid. The manager needs to refocus on the priorities of running a leisure and business hotel.

Good location / downtown. Very friendly staff very modern outillage. Restaurant was average....Calamares definately originated from the freezer and the Boullabaise was too (fresh) tomato-style....not bad but nothing to do with Boullabaise Fish Soup

Room was ok and clean. Location is close to "walking-street" with lots of small restaurants.

Enjoyed staying there ( breakfast was good )

Room Tip: No pool or fitness as far as I know !!
