“Excellent hotel close to central train station”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We checked in at 9:30pm. The hotel reserves a sandwich for late check-ins which is thoughtful. There are restaurants across the street and nearby. Our room was on the first floor and it was clean and comfortable. I didn't miss my bed at home. Breakfast was good and consisted of eggs, sausage links, potatoes, bread, cheese and fruit. The evening light buffet was soup, baked pasta with broccoli, green and rice salad and some appetizers. I enjoyed the 24 access to coffee and tea in the restaurant. I would stay here again.

We asked for a room high up, but only got second floor (first floor). The room was decorative, even if it was a little crowded, but the bathroom was more spacious.

The breakfast was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Service at the front desk was impeccable and more than I would expect.

It made me uncomfortable that the luggage room was unattended, guests got the key at the reception desk and got their stuff themselves.

Very efficient check in and check out. Very friendly staff - when we came in drunk on sat night the receptionsist even gave us 2 baguettes that he didn't have too. Bed very confortable and TV modern. Shower could of been a bit more powerful. Light evening buffet was good and just went up 2 or 3 times until we were full up. Breakfast not bad but no milk in milk machine both mornings and eggs ran out - had to wait quite some time for replacement but otherwise fine. Great location for weekend break and would stay again if ever went back...

Fantastic location almost next to the station, small but clean and well furnished bedroom with separate good sized bathroom. Breakfast, non-stop tea, coffee and fruit are great, BUT the evening buffet is an amazing bonus. There are comfortable lounges, computer access and free WI-Fi. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and will put you on the correct train or bus if needed, but Copenhagen is a perfect walking city for all the attractions.

Night in Copenhagen before boarding ship. Nice boutique hotel, and very handy being able to have dinner included in the price as Copenhagen is very expensive. Dinner, like breakfast, is a buffet so there is a good choice with a great cheese board. Free coffee and pastries available throughout the day. OK, there is a strip club opposite which we knew of before booking but to be quite honest, saw or heard nothing so definitely not a problem. Bedroom very comfy and a great bathroom, but only problem was the ceiling which sloped so had to be careful getting out of bed. Nice little lounge areas.

This hotel aims to create a warm and friendly family atmosphere and they really have achieved their goal. It's like staying in an upscale family-run bed and breakfast only better. Here are my list of loves:

1. Checked in early because they had a room available. This is always a major plus for me. I hate hotels that have such rigid policies about early check-in and strive to avoid them. Major plus for this hotel.

2. The lounge area is beautiful and very relaxing. There is also a desk down there in case you want to work.

3. They offer a large lunch and even a free light evening meal!!! You wouldn't believe how much money we saved because of this benefit. I have NEVER had such a plus at any hotel, not EVER!

4. Great central location right by the main station.

The good - nice boutique feel, central location

The bad - neighbour is the red light zone, not particularly in-your-face (apart from the strip club directly opposite the hotel) but still a bit on the seedy side.
- rooms looks good a first glance but lots of cut corners in decor, like office-style panel ceiling and rubber hose on the otherwise chrome shower.
- was disturbed on two different nights by different noises that seemed to be coming from the air conditioning system.
- stupid square-shaped pillows! why would you have square-shaped pillows!?
- breakfast was ok, but inferior to that at the Scandic Copenhagen. Dinner was also included in our price, but looked very basic and didnt bother.

Overall, the Scanic Copenhagen nearby was better on nearly every count.
