“Such a great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

After an almost disastrous trip to Copenhagen where I stayed at a different hotel, I was a little worried to be going back, albeit to 71 Nyhavn. But I needn't have worried - my stay here was great.

What made this visit so great was the staff. Everyone my husband and I spoke to were so helpful and polite, and made us feel so welcome. The customer service here is perfect.

The hotel is in a great location, on the iconic Nyhavn and a short walk away from shops and a Metro station. It was freezing outside, but the upgraded room we had was cosy (under floor heating in the bathroom - such a treat!) We slept so well - the bed was extremely comfortable. The room we had wasn't the biggest room, but the character in it more than made up for this. It's a converted warehouse, so if you're looking for something unique, choose 71 Nyhavn!

Ok, first af all the location is great and lovely, BUT: it's not a 4 stars hotel!!
Ok the old style idea, but bathrooms and rooms do not make any sence, and it's quite durty! So, reception and common area are nice but rooms are a big disappointment!
Finally, I don't think peices are correct for what you really get.

Pleasant place to stay in old central Copenhagen. Pleasant hotel, good kitchen, nice surroundings. Centrally located. Nearby the Metro to Kastrup airport. Excellent service. The hotel is an old "packhouse", and is carefully transformed to a stylish hotel.

Yes, the room was small, but the character of the wood beams, the Juliet balcony, and the view more than made up for it! I found the room to be very comfortable for two. We had comfortable chairs, a small table & desk by the window, which made a nice spot to enjoy the activities on the water! The hotel location is wonderful....a short stroll to the pedestrian shopping...if you can get past all the restaurants and ice cream temptation on the way! (You'll find more tempting spots when you arrive....designer goodies to tasty treats!). The hotel does not include breakfast in the rate, and it wasn't inexpensive! We did have breakfast on a couple of mornings, and everything was beautifully presented, and lunch was not going to be required! (So, really, it was worth the price!). The only things that might improve the room at all might be an in room coffee maker, and do know that the shower is on the smaller side....and the floor of the bath WILL be wet and slippery when you emerge. (I rolled a hand towel length ways and placed it on the floor at the base of the shower door and that did help) . Overall, based upon view, charm and location...you can't lose! I'll definitely make this my hotel of choice in Copenhagen!

Room Tip: We had a room on the canal with a Juliet Balcony....wonderful!

I have read some reviews complaining that the rooms don't meet international standards for size etc, but having just returned from a 4 night stay at 71 Nyhavn, I would happily swap "international standards" for the wood beamed, cosy yet comfortable room that we got. The rooms are wonderfully warm (temp was down to -7 outside!). The location is great - so many bars and restaurants literally on the doorstep. Perfect for the metro - bliss to be back in Europe with such efficiency!

But biggest thumbs up goes to the 71 Nyhavn staff. Sorry guys - didn't get your names, but the tall blond guy who checked us in, heard my tale of woe about my bags arriving later and arrived a few minutes later at my room with a toothbrush and paste in his hand (completely unprompted). And the blonde girl on reception who gave great advice for our trips out - including recommendations for restaurants that were spot on.

Loved the hotel - loved Copenhagen!

Room Tip: Stayed on top floor - room 630 - right next to lift but only very faint noise. Plumbing just a litt...

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in January and had a lovely stay. The standard room was cosy and comfortable and a reasonable size with an en-suite bathroom and lots of storage space. The hotel was in easy walking distance of both the main shopping street, and the Metro station at Kongens Nytorv.

As the title suggest, any hotel that is located in Copenhagen is going to get the thumbs up from me simply because of where it is. I am not Danish but have spent some time there and am head over heels in love with the place. I have spent time in Aarhus and Esbjerg and i adore both but Copenhagen is something else and very special. hard to put my finger on it- the architecture, the people, the history, the shops......everything!

The hotel was near perfect in every way also. The staff, in typical Danish style, were friendly, funny and warm. the room was great too and had everything i needed. The only criticism would be that the walls are too thin and are poorly sound-proofed. I could hear every word of next door conversations.

would i go back - 100% yes!!
