“Noisy nights at the Nyhavn!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

see tips below for more but it is a lovely building with very noisy air conditioning and split level suites that are difficult to negotiate if youre not good on spiral staircases . the waterside corner rooms are the best to go for .. It is a beautifully restored warehouse and first rate staff but they need new AC systems ... and a cheaper breakfast option (or bedroom kettles and a continental option

Room Tip: Dont get a room alongside the huge air conditioning unit which runs down one side of the hotel (besi...

Stayed here for a couple of nights prior to joining a Baltic Cruise.
So pleased to have stayed in this area of Copenhagen right by the canal with loads of atmosphere and plenty of bars and restaurants along the quayside.

Perfect for getting a canal cruise and for walking around, which is easy in Copenhagen

Originally chose another hotel in Copenhagen but changed at the last minute to this one on recommendation,

The comments made by others about the bathroom should not deter as this hotel is offering a wet room type of arrangement. Yes there is water after a shower but easily resolved with a towel and of course the water drains away.

Breakfast is great plenty of choice, and service is good. Nyhavn is clearly the nicest area of Copenhagen to stay in. Thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a superior room and purchase on the internet

My partner booked this for a weekend break. We stayed in a standard room. 1st impression hotel looks nice, reception staff excellent very quick and helpful. As we got out of the lift I felt like I was on the Portsmouth to Bilbao ship. As we entered the room it was very small but nice (room 415), bathroom laughable but it was clean and worked (definitely like being on a ship). Terrible nights sleep due to the constant drone of noise from the alley way, possibly air conditioning units (not that our room had air conditioning). We did have windows wide open due to the hottest day of the year. Breakfast excellent choice, perfect start to the day.
Would I stay again YES but a different room on a different side of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms looking over alley way, due to constant drone all night

Reception staff were excellent, as were the breakfast staff. The restaurant was pricey, so didn't try it, but it would be a shame to eat in when there is so much choice 5 minutes away. The location is brilliant and there is some night noise from the boat trips coming home and people out on the streets, but hey, choose a hotel on the main street in this bustling city and you surely expect this. However, the noise was not disturbing and it wasn't too bad at all. Beware, the car park is there but it's about £23 a day. "cheaper than the street" say the staff, but get used to getting money out of your purse in this hugely expensive city. We stayed in room 312, right by the lift but we never heard it once. The room was on the small side, but acceptable given the style and age of the building. Our views were lovely-right over the water with boats cruising by all day. Overall a great experience. Do watch out for the locals on their bikes. We say 2 crashes and both times the cyclist hit the pedestrians instead of avoiding them or shouting a warning. Yes, maybe silly tourists were not looking, but the locals have an air of "we own the city and tough luck if you dare relax and try to stroll our city"

Front desk service- second to none. Location cannot be beat. Rooms might be a little small, but all you are going to do is sleep in them. Walking distance to everything! Did not eat there but restaurant looks interesting

Room Tip: Ask for upgrade. Not much difference in cost!

The hotel is well located along Copenhagen's harbour in a very nice place, walking distance to all major attractions. Rooms are fine, BUT, once you get into the shower the whole bathroom gets flooded. Not very convenient, actually.
Free wifi.

Just returned from my trip to Copenhagen. Staying in room 231 of the 71 Nyhavn hotel was a good experience. Very pleasant staff, nice room (not extremely big, but certainly big enough for travelers who spend there time outside the hotel. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom rather spacious because of smart design. Free in-the-room wifi worked perfectly and is not limited to a max. number of devices. TV is mainly local oriented, but use of sub-titles makes also local broadcast of English spoken movies or series easy to understand. Breakfast was reasonable with regards to choice, however extremely expensive for what you get. Especially for a guy like me who only eats some scrabled eggs, two slices of toast with jam and a bit of fresh fruit, it comes close to ridiculous or hilarious, depending on your mood ;-).

Because of circumstances I had to extend my stay in Copenhagen. The second night I chose to stay in the Scandic Glostrup, which is more like an Mediocre class hotel. Compared to that Scandic hotel, 71Nyhavn is off the scale (better).
