“Walk in the steps of the Queen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

The palace is still being remodeled and you have to take this into account, when you visit. All it means is that it is not picture pretty, you need to walk around some fences. Also currently the ruins under the palace were closed.
Palace itself is beautiful, you can walk around by yourself or take a guided tour in English or Danish. It helps you to put things in context and learn a little more about Danish history not just about the palace yourself. The tour takes about an hour, if your guide is very talkative it can be a bit longer.
While you walk through the rooms you feel like you follow the queen, as she uses the palace for some official events. The interiors are large, bright and inviting.
You can photograph inside without a flash (please remember this) for your personal use but you need a permit for commerical use of the photos.

“Take the tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

The reception rooms are fun because they are only used for affairs of state and grand occasions. The guide was knowledgeable and gave exactly the right amount of information to keep the tour moving. About an hour and worth seeing.

“Worth a look”

Fabulous visit ...don't need to spend money on a sightseeing trip - can easily walk along the harbour walkway to the palace. The reception rooms are laid out as they were 200 years ago.

“Splendid decor - and beautiful dinner service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

Much to admire in each of this palace's various dining and public entertainment areas. Each room has its own colours and decor and history - and significant paintings and sculptures as well. Some of the history of the royal family is also documented - including some of the more colourful members of the royal family. a good account of the fires that consumed the original palace - the current one is quite modern though still very 'palatial'. The botanical dinner service is on show and it is a delight.

“Interesting”

Used the Copenhagen card for entry, and thoroughly enjoyed the palace. Pictures are allowed. Self tour so go at your own pace. Worth a look!
