This museum was founded by a member of the Carlsberg brewing family and generously endowed. Statuary and art is amazing. Unfortunately a large part was closed for rehanging.

“From greek to Matisseas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

This a basket of plenty, all the grecco-roman statues are there as well as paintings, a winter garden all this in a beautiful Gallery, upstairs are the paintings, in the cellar the Egyptian collection. In one Museum one can go through all the different historical time which is cliamed to have shaped the European cultures for its birth.

Lovely worth a visit on a rainy day.

“Wowsers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Thank goodness there are people like Carisberg who are willing to donate substantial funds to promote art and history. Just seeing the Viking stuff is enough reason to visit. All the other wonderful exhibits are just icing on the cake. Do not miss this venue.

“Disappointing”

Impressive collection, but disappointing for the price.
Given that this is so highly rated on here, I expected more.
